Delusional JUne 30th dreamer, please don't quit, your gonna be disappointed...

(bastuden) #1

first off, I’d like to start by saying the DLC will not be released this month, period. At this point if if was going to be released they would know already guys, we are talking 8 days from now, trust me they most definitely would have an idea… Also this whole thing about a hold up with Microsoft the community has created here is propaganda and also not true, regardless they still would have some idea on a release date. If you don’t believe me look at some forums for other titles available for xbox that has had DLC in the past.

The reason I put up this thread is to to help those of you waiting for the magic DLC to release on the 30th to cope with the reality it won’t be releasing, but urging you guys not to quit for the sake of the community. In all honesty if your bored already with Brink, you most likely will be bored after the DLC as it will only provide 2 maps and a merely 4 new levels (we need like 20 new levels). SO honestly if your done with the game now, the DLC most likely will not keep you here. Please pop in your copy of Brink and try and appreciate the pure fun of the game. Get competitive and track your stats on the stat site as you compare your stats with your friends.

We all know the battle for the Ark is pointless and there is no true goal here, because the developers failed to learn anything from MAG (which by the way was trying to do something revolutionary, giving FPS’s a purpose, the whole concept would have been perfect for the battle of the ARK, my God I can’t get over this, sorry) but hey we got what we got and fun, different type of shooter, so lets play folks, the DLC wont completely change the game, so lets not put all our hopes in it, and lets let SPLASH DAMAGE slide this one time for lying to us… Because I honestly think they had good intentions, but no guys, the DLC will not be releasing this month, who think differently?:stroggbanana:

it will either be released by the end of this month or the beginning of next month. it wont be released this week.

it wont change the game. it will add some stuff, fix and tweak minor things.

(MorsTua) #3

the game is not bad at all

they just need to fix major bugs and add a promod, where u can kill people with less bullets, the automatisms are removed and where there are referee commands like pause , startmatch, demo record.

Next month for sure, I think instead of fixing things, it will add even more bugs that will have to be patched later. Man if only you knew what they did to us over on 360, now if you want to get into a competitive match (one of the only modes you can play with only real people) if wont let your start unless there are 5 people on each side all ready’d up, there for leaving you waiting for like 20 minutes for a match to start, when before you could just start as soon as both sides had a couple of people are were ready up and then people could just drop in the match as after the match started

We would like to thank you for supporting Brink and for your continued feedback. To show our appreciation for your support of Brink, we will be making the first DLC for Brink available for free when it is released. This DLC is planned for June and will offer additional maps and new content for players.

“Planned for June” does not mean “Will definitely be june!”
Plans often get pushed back. They’ll get us a date as soon as they can.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bethesda was slightly distracted by the Lulzsec hack. And SD was having to school the guys that are doing the stats site.

(Crytiqal) #6

Seriously, it was said YESTERDAY that it was still planned for this month by a DEV.

geeeesh

zenstar you never fail to be on top of your game, thanks for this!

Pleasure. I got annoyed with people claiming that they’d set dates for the dlc so went and looked up the original post

It always clears things up a bit when you can find the originals.

EDIT:

Link?
I didn’t see that. Link plx or it didn’t happen.

Not sure what people think Delusional means, but it is misused at will on this forum. Just hang tight, and be patient for ***** sakes. also, what OP says is true: the game is not going to be radically different after the DLC if you don’t like it right now. It will just be more content for those who like it.

(its al bout security) #10

yep and i played against you and did the same thing!

GT: lago coach

just because compititon… if you are on defense you almost always win and there are NEVER medics its real dumb

i got sick of it pretty quick

(BiigDaddyDellta) #11

I will admit I’m impatient, so impatient I eBayed all the pre order packs and I still can’t wait for the DLC. I don’t believe it will be this month either I just want it to come out and i maybe maybe make the community a little better so we can get MORE. I think this game has a long way to go but not without support.

can we get a link bro?

(wolfnemesis75) #14

Play Standard Freeplay. That’s what we all play together. Last night every game was 8v8 humans.

(vbl) #15

Eeeeeeehhhhhhhh yea, yea it is.

See: sales vs. people still playing.

(EnderWiggin.DA.) #16

I’m hoping it’s out the week before the Summer Steam sale and that Brink is part of that sale.

You can condescend and wag your finger at the guys around here all day, but it’s sort of directed at the wrong people.

Like me, I really want Splash Damage to get the dlc out in June JUST LIKE THEY SAID, with patching/updates that cures the multiplayer instabilities JUST LIKE THEY’VE SAID, with some competent freeplay settings like at launch (8v8 humans in one match, no 100% ready-up fail).

I really do want all of this, but it has nothing to do with me being impatient or anything of the like. Not threatening to leave if this isn’t done by then, there, that way… nor are most others.

It’s just that we are being rational. Playerbases abandon games with horrible releases, shady fixes that need fixes, and any perceived promise-breaking. That’s just a plain fact.
Why does that matter to us? Simple. We don’t or can’t play dead or barely alive online multiplayer games.

Telling me to be patient is extremely pointless. I already like the game, and will continue to play it until the playerbase dwindles into such a pathetic state that I no longer find the multiplayer enjoyable. Plain and simple.
I’ve already watched three other games do just that, THIS year, already.

Why would I NOT try to speak towards the developers to avoid seeing that happen with Brink? How am I somehow in the wrong for wanting to stay assured that this playerbase will remain healthy?
Did I release the game in a horrible, nearly unplayable (for many) state?
Did I implement quick fixes that skated the thin line of officially making the “16 Player Multiplayer” note on the game case into false advertising?
Did I lead the entire playerbase to expect FREEEE DLC during the month of June?

I’m positive that Splash Damage will do good to keep this game alive, even if they did DO BAD with the release, or else I would have long abandoned the game.
However, don’t expect me to sit with my fingers crossed, as the game dies, with full faith in “a business”, SILENTLY.

You’ll get your candy soon. Halloween is at the end of the month too.

(Abdul) #20

If it gets pushed back, I guess we can expect more fixes  So, I honestly couldn’t care if it takes longer to release, since it has to be done right, this is their last shot to win back most of the player base and get more.
