Dedicated servers are annoying

I really don’t wanT to waste my time in a server browser, looking for a server with players and ping, trying to connect but then the server is full and I have to start over. And then you get on a server that is running like crap, or it has strange settings that I have no way of inspecting beforehand (and this is one of the cases where more choice is worse, because many players and servers move away from standard). In fact, the settings aren’t even known in game, you have to experience the effect. Oops, sorry I just shot you, didn’t know FF was on.

I miss MW2 in this regard, it was much nicer that you just chose gametype and got into a game. I really feel I’m wasting a lot of time finding games rather than playing. And I really fail to see the upside.

the server browser shows both listen and dedicated servers

if you add Dedicated to name filter it’ll show you only dedicated servers if the server owners were smart enough to add that line to their server name

I don’t get the server browser. It’s just contrived and confusing. Why can’t we tell which is dedicated and which not from server browser? Why can’t we filter out bots? Or I’m missing something and this game was intended to be played against bots from the start?

I wouldn’t care if i had to type in the IP every time i had to connect to a server as long as it’s dedicated… Peer to peer instantly makes every fps TERRIBLE~~~~

My word, you folks of the CoD-generation have been completely zombified. Dedicated servers beat the MW2 system hands down.

If you consider refreshing a server list and then throwing a few of them into a favourites list too much effort, well then that says more about you than about the system I’m afraid.

And so is stating that the MW2 system was better. Really…

I had to make a account to just get inn on this post, this is just sad
If scrolling down and using filters to find the best server with a great ping, map you like or the right amount of players is just too much
Then i feel sorry for you, having a choice is freedom

And actually saying that a system like the one MW2 uses is better, that is just in lack of a better word

Although I agree the server browser is lacking some filters (like mentioned: bots and friendly fire)

If you have the Steam version, you could always use the Steam Server Browser.

Those filters are entirely useless the way they work. -.-

Can’t filter out empty servers, can’t filter by settings other than a vague rule NAME… About the only filter that works besides private/not private is the ping filter.

i always liked the left 4 dead system. go into a lobby with your friends, then search for a dedicated server to join as a team.
