It just hit me: if you cant swim underwater - what will happen to vehicles when they enter deep water?
I hope they wont just explode like in bf, imagine a mighty cyclops walker defeaded by the local pond

ah well… ppl will find some other competition way of not shooting. maybe some car racing through wild terrain… that just for starters.

any kind of jumping destroy the idea of teamshooters, i have to do good teamwork and not the mostperfectly jumping frequency.
If i want to play a “jump and shot” game (another name for classical egoshooter) i can play unreal tournament, only for a hour or a half. This the right game for bunny hoppers.
Look at Americas Army this is the game which all TeamShooters have to measure to. This is a real tactic-team-shooter. I know that you can not really compare both titles, but i hope Quake Wars will expand my horizon of teamshooter experience (with vehicles).
Americas Army is not really improvable (exclude the initial jump).

like in ET, servs for TJ and servs for frag, i like both but now that im out of a clan and ETQW is coming im mostly in TJ
and jumping makes you an easy target.
It’s obviously going to have a Quake and ET feeling so if your looking for those realistic US army crap shooters go play something else. I don’t go on unreal tourney forum to tell them to make the next quake game… soo… You get the point.
i think there was a mod like that for ET or rtcw that added a diver class or something like that. it dint really do much for the game play since the entire game is based around fighting on land. and however nice thoughts of creating classes that will bypass the enemy defense in suicide in gameplay, how would it be any fun if you keep losing because the enemy just keeps sneaking into your base. it would be as annoying as losing fueldump on a back door job
i remember one game where i trickjumped to victory in fueldump, i was allies, made a few jump, got behind the enemy, jumped to the tunnel, got near the depot, jumped to the roof and so on, planted an won.
well for the opposing team this will be so annoying and most servers have rules about objective trickjump

Just use some of you aiming skills and kill the bunny hoper and stop whining no BFD!!! You dont see people that play Unreal Tournament whining about Trick Jumping or bunny hoping in that game. With all that weight u might want to stay at the surface cuz if u go down u might not come back up!
Imo there is no “bunnyhopping” in W:ET.
“bunnyhopping” problem only applies to BF2 series, cause of the terrible hitboxes.
In W:ET moving good, is a skill, not a bug.

America’s Army is the wrong direction. There are more types of game than teamshooter and “jump and shot”. Teamshooters have tended to be slow while “jump and shot” have tended to be fast. Enemy Territory and Team fortress are near unique in that they are fast teamshooters with quick movement speed, high health and accurate weapons.
Slow does not make a game better.

Which Team Fortress are you talking about ? I only played QWTF, Q3F and TFC and none of them had accurate weapons. Except for sniper rifle (people kill themselves over a chance to play sniper) there are no accurate weapons in Team Fortress. Actually there are only 2 other hitscan weapons (shotguns) and they’re as weak as they’re inaccurate (spread). All the other weapons have fairly slowly moving projectiles.

I guess accurate in a way that you can run arround and still hit everything you shoot at, which is fun and a good thing imo.

good reason but i think in teamshooter, lower gameplay make more room for (team-)tactics, where you have to place your shot. I know that th way of Quake Wars i another but slows down the gameplay a little bit cannot harm the game. I think particularly the brain/head-players will honor that. Look at Henry Maske.
@Ifurita: Americas Army boring? lol. You are not able to handle this situation, it´s a shooter, where you have to use your brain.
I love it when people are so narrow minded, they can’t recognize that it’s ok for people to have different opinions than yours. Apparently the need to crawl and sneak around not appealing to my brain’s pleasure center = can’t handle it in your mind, which is fine. This simply means you like a particular style of game, I like a different style of game, which I hope ETQW will be.

For all its worth I still hope the game is like ET in that you can be quiet and sneak around if you want or you can just go balls to walls and rush in guns ablazin every time. If a game is only sneaking around and waiting then that is pretty boring, this is a game I want to have some fun not sit around waiting for the other guy to get bored and move first.
Agreed. ET was nice in that there was equal sapce for being sneaky and getting into objectives unseen and running and gunning with the other side and pushing hard on offense.
For the record, I’ve also tried SWAT and Rainbow 6 and they were even more boring (aka my brain couldn’t handle those either) than AA.
