Damage Effects + Blood

Will there be blood in ET:QW? How about damage effects?

The light effects look cool, they will help immerse you into the game, but without being able to decapitate some one (or at least get some blood effects) the immersion will be limited. I didn’t see any blood in any of the screenies or trailer. Actually, I didn’t see anyone getting shot in the video either. :frowning:

So blood effects FTW! :clap:

ahh yes. please include lots more stuff that everyone will turn off for stable fps
imo, all that heavy graphic stuff is great for SP, but has no place in mp online gaming

A game of this magnitude will most certainly have plenty of gore graphics.
A loss of a limb or two would really be a plus as well as a good old fashion exploding head shot. I am totally for these options :smiley:

Games today are not just for kids anymore, adults want their own game with realism.
Kids have Ever Quest, let the kids have that game, that game sucks anyway and has absolutely no gore, so enjoy kids :). We adults want to claim what’s to be our game, and that game is going to be ET-QW with a “Mature +18” rating :smiley:

It’s about options. Toggle if off if you can’t handle it. This game has the future in mind and written all over it. Nothing should be withheld just because of weak machines need to play it too, toggle that extra shit off and play low rez. In 2-5 years when you buy a bad ass machine you will appreciate the features it’s capable of doing.

In 2-5 years, I will still be playing a game like this. I’m telling you all the candy needs to be implemented now or else it will suck and just be a cheesy bang banger with nothing special to look at, thus it will die before you get a chance to play it with your new bad ass machine and see the true beauty of it.

This game needs to be a full course meal that is a all you can eat so it will last awhile and with free coupons so you can eat it again and again, not just a little snack that’s gone in one or two crunches.

I just know this title is capable of a being a platinum seller.
Please Splashdamage, don’t let us down and cripple what this engine is really capable of doing. WE WANT IT ALL. AND I’M WILLING TO PAY FOR IT.

Like I’ve said before, leave the anatomically accurate fish heads in the garbage can for Single Player games where it’s NEEDED, don’t bore me with accurate blood splatter and correct number of nerves and tendons on the arm you just shot off in my ONLINE MULTIPLAYER games where everyone turns it off even with uber rigs to maintain leet and/or stable fps

btw, by the time the game is released, I’ll have afore mentioned uber rig, but I’ll still turn off the blood, brass and other petty annoyances

To each his own I guess. As long as the availability is there, then we’ll all will have it our own way. Kinda like ordering pizza, choose what toppings you want. If you want plain cheese, that’s your choice. As long as the rest of us can have all the toppings if we choose to, then we’ll all be happy campers.

btw, by the time the game comes out, I will have my SLI rig too. My new PC cash fund is just waiting for the next generation GPU coming out real soon. I’m gonna turn all that shit on too, because I know it’s gonna play it silky smooth. JOY!

We really want some stuff (images, gossip etc). We know you must coordinate with the owners and stuff and wait for quakecon and whatever, but surely you can drop somehting. It is unethical to keep this many grown men in suspense.

Even if peoples pc’s can handle it id say almost all half decent players will turn the gore off, seems noob to leave them on imo, red flashes across your screen… great ^^

Red flashes across the screen? I’m talking about bullet holes in the bodies with some some blood leakage and little bit of blood splattered on the wall.
This is suppose to be the ALMIGHTY STROGG INVASION, COME ON.

Your idea of graphics sucks. Red flashes across the screen… don’t make me laugh…
This is not some paper wad shootout with your kiddie friends that when you get hit in the eye you start seeing red flashes.

Well, the red flashes on the screen = annoying, I agree with that.

Decapitation will be hard/impossible to do because you can rez the person. Unless you have different types of ‘death’ The type where you can still be rezzed, the type where you have a limb blown off and cannot be rezzed., and the type there you are a pile of red stuff on the wall and floor and cannot be rezzed.

But just some sort of blood effect would be good enough…

Nobody that wants to play right will have that ceck on. It would be nice to have for some night I’m o and running around like an eejit drunk. ut come times when I want to play well I’ll be knockin it all aff. I was playin wolfy ET for years on my old machine with almost everything turned off to get a decent stable framerate. I now have one of the said dualcore nvidia dogsbollox systems and because my framerate drops below 125 on radar, I still have it capped a 76 and whilst I haven’t ripped the arse out of it. things like wallmarks, blood splatter, particles are all turned off still. The only improvement I made on the whole system is I play at a higher resolution now.

if anyone thinks that any gfx/sfx is not needed in MP game you can do your own game…
saying that characters are using hitboxes? So colored boxes are the best!
saying that you turn your view gun off? So why add that thing to game!
It’s already been here… lowest details on Doom3 engine do NOT need much… however there is one big problem with ETQW, it isnt as simple it’s gfx will be very unused … players will low FPS will turn all off, they will have much clearer view and so … that is reason why players without any FPS problems will follow them
it will end with most players playing on lowend settings
highend gfx in ETQW will be mainly for better success
I may be wrong, but will you for example shadows/foliage on while others have it off and can see you in shadows/behind bush?

If you guys are saying your so leet and going to turn all off the graphics to play, why not just stick with whats already perfected, Wolfenstien Enemy Territory, no need for you to play ET-QW because it’ll be a wasted game on your weak ass machine. ET-QW should have all the eye candy graphics this time.

Your whinning about graphic lag because of your weak machine, turn the shit off so your machine can handle it. It has nothing to do with the network code. Only thing it’s going to do is bog your system down so bad it can’t process the netcode at the speed it needs to.

eye candy is great in single player games, where it’s needed for atmosphere I see no need for it in multiplayer games

Perhaps a guy like you would be more happy playing animated stick figure game with a white background. That suits your personality, dull and plain.

Again, it’s all client side options, the underlaying netcode should have nothing to with the eye candy. Just another layer to toggle off.
