To be honest, they’re both good and bad. The double weekend rendered quite a chunk of the level 10 population useless as a barrier.

Assuming the idea is that time spent playing the game might actually make you a better player overall.

Had a few good games on one server yesterday, nice and tight. Had a few games that were just as bad as playing with or against completely new players.

No reason there shouldn’t be segregated servers, just not sure the level is the ideal divider instead of actual playtime. And I suppose that gets wrecked by having your game running but sitting at the title screen.

This is the opposite of my experience.
I suppose it depends on the time of the day, and region, but yesterday, for a good while, after the update, all of the Min level 10 EU servers that appeared on my list, were packed full, and you had to wait for your turn to get on them.

You still have to start empty servers by yourself, joining them in the server-browser (which is hopefully fixed when I start the game now :P), the game will only quickjoin people on already running servers.

As for the the feedback, not as good as hoped, part the “no real auto-join on them”, part the last double-xp weekend I was already scared of.
But at least most people know the maps and what to do, and if they decide to play tdm or teamplay, obviously can’t be determinated by their level.
So adding all up, much better than before, still it will never be perfect, especially not for everyone.

Oh man, so, there’s something weird going on with the server browser.
I was only able to find 3 Minimum level 10 servers yesterday, but now I’m seeing a ton of them.
The key with server browser, apparently, is to have “All” checked, under the game modes filter.

plus in a few days/weeks a min lvl server will achieve the high-skill reputation, likely making the ‘fake lvl 10s’ be reluctant to join and get rekt.

Yep. I guess that’s the same problem putting people on servers thousands of miles away, instead of starting a new one “infront of your door”.
If you look at the servers, you don’t get shown while filtering for stopwatch or objective, you see their gamemode is not set, or nowadays to “lobby”. They are in the map “lobby”, in the gamemode “lobby”, and the filter only searches for games already running in a gamemode, stopwatch, objective, execution.

And if the quickjoin-tool uses the same filters, then it’s quite obvious why it doesn’t work for empty servers…
Probably it would be better to have all servers empty and start them in which way they are needed by the tool (rnd map, but gamemode and players set by the quickjoin) or, as a more simple thing I guess, just up another lobby for every “type of gamemode”-server stating it would be an objective or an stopwatch server.

I must be blind as I didn’t see any of them while gaming last night.

I’ll take a hard look for them this evening. I’d like to see a filter added to the server browser so i can sort these servers out.

“eu - min” ,or w/e region you like, in the server name field will show you the servers.
(show all types of games if you want to see the empty ones since lobbys dont feel like obj/sw servers)

On my server browser, there’s literally like 20 people in the entire world using them right now. Am I doing something wrong? They’re all in EU too, so I can’t join them and have decent ping, as I’m from the Western US.

Edit: Correction, there’s exactly 37 people playing on Min 10 servers, all in the EU.

Edit 2: I have all game modes checked, ping set to “any”, and it’s set to show all servers, even if they’re full or empty or password-protected. So, am I doing something wrong, or are there really just no Americans on the Min10 servers?
