Ok, that wasn’t good, but still fixable, guess I’ll have to try contacting them + Bethesda then. But do you have the same issue as me with the install language or can you choose English?o.0
D2D Preload up!
Or Bethesda just gave them the wrong keys. I am optimistic this issue will be resolved until Friday, but writing tickets on D2D and mailing Bethesda customer support cannot hurt.
I’m at 33% on the download now but I don’t see why my download would be different from yours, probably won’t matter anyway though since at some point we’ll need to enter the key into Steam and that won’t work.
And I’m all for optimism but this is looking rather bleak if we all have to go through a DD-service support system, we’ll be directed in circles while unplugging routers and wiggling cords all over the place, and that’s if D2D support is half as good as Steam support. Once you send that ticket you’re in for a regular Kafka nightmare.
I’d love to be proven wrong though. :stroggbanana:

Thinking the same thing here, hope yours works better than mine, but please tell me if it’s the same with the languages for you anyways.
Still, I’ve got tickets sent in to the D2D people and waiting for a response on both of my problems, last time I got one in under an hour so we’ll see what they say.
Oh, just saw this on the support page btw, might easy your troubles:
"Attention Direct2Drive UK Buyers:
We are aware of an issue with using your key if located outside the UK. We are working with Bethesda to resolve this. There is still plenty of time to download and get ready for May 13th!"
I still have no frigging idea what’s up with the languages for my install tho, lol.
Just got a message from D2D: We are curently working on an issue with keys outside the UK not working. We will have a resolution for you very shortly!
Looks like this will be fixed pretty soon.
Oh well then that’s good! I’m slightly more optimistic now.
And sorry for making you read all this badman (if you did!)!
Out of curiosity, do you live in the UK or did the activation key still work for you living in another country?
I’m in the UK mate.
Ah ok, well thanks anyways dude. I’ll try to download it again and see if I might get the option to have English as installation language this time.
Im from Italy and bought the copy from the UK d2d store…doesnt work.
EDIT: oh, i read…feel much better now
Zzxyz.Rd, let me know how that goes for you. Im in the same situation, I preordered from D2D UK. Downlaoded the client ‘Brink_EU’ but it has no English option on install! Also, my games page on D2D is not displaying my CD-key! Did you get your cd key?

The key was pulled from all UK versions, because of an issue with redeeming it on Steam outside of the UK. It will most likely be replaced with a new key that works outside of the UK.
I can’t imagine why English is missing from the D2D download, but once you get your new key you can activate it on Steam and just preload the game on Steam, where you can simply change the language in the preferences for every Steam game.

Will do man, about 20-30 mins left on the download at the moment.
I did get the CD-key at first, and it wasn’t accepted by Steam, it said that the product was not available in my region. But now after that they wrote about being aware of the problem, and trying to fix it, I can no longer see my CD-key. I’m assuming that they are going to give us a new working one when they have the problem figured out, so you probably don’t have to worry (:
Edit: @ Angrim: Yeah, I was thinking that if my download still doesn’t give me the option to have it in English, and I don’t get a new response from the support team on D2D that I’ll just preload it using steam instead. I do know Italian and German, some Spanish, but God I don’t want my game to be in that language.

Yeah true, the main aim was to just take the key and use it in Steam in the first place, not quite sure why I really started to download the preload :o
Haha, you’re probably just a little bit too excited about this game, just like me:wink:
Anyways, 15 min left on the download.

Me too. I DLed from the D2D downloader yesterday and let steam DL it today just in case it will at least let me preinstall… Probably not though.
After having re-downloaded it, I can still not choose English as the language for my install. So no point in you guys doing that, maybe they are going to fix it soon, don’t know, seems wierd. Anyways, I’ll just wait and preload it from Steam instead then.
Oh well
Hopefully they will have the CD-keys sorted soon. Still a few days to go I guess.
