CW to hard to get

Opened over 50 cw cases, no cw infact I even got a gold and about 3 silvers. What is this? people are just spending money to get them. Could there be another way to earn these?

There is a 0.3% chance of getting a CW card… you can’t possibly open CW cases and think you are actually going to get one.

I once cared then realized that it doesn’t really matter if I get them or not, since there will more than likely be other events similar to this one that give us different skins. It’s just a luxury to have anything above bronze, so I can’t be mad over not getting any.

Now, for you sad souls that have spent a ton of money and have yet to get any good cards, I am quite sorry to hear that.

I got a good one after about 100 cases. Though I agree, they are too difficult.

I don’t expect to get one and if I somehow did get one it would end up being for a class I don’t play with a loadout that doesn’t suit even if I did. (looks at the coblats Phantom and Fletcher). (I lost count on how many I opened).

The rng is crazy as it is with cobalt’s (also the reason I haven’t spent any money on the game, there is nothing worth the money for dale and that’s unfortunate as I’d like to spend money on it)

Fun with Numbers!
What has a higher chance of happening than you getting a CW card from 1 case?

  • Getting the same specific color 8 times in a row on a roulette table - pow(0.5, 8) = 0.00390625 [or 8 times the same result in 8 consecutive coin tosses, yadda yadda]
  • Getting the same specific number from 3 dice rolls - pow((1/6), 3) = 0.004629
  • Drawing a specific card from a standard 52 poker card deck and from the leftover cards drawing a card of a specific color bigger than 3. (This is the equation)
  • Dying by Firearm or Exposure to Fire, Flames or Smoke over the course of your life in the US - 1/1,442 + 1/358 = 0.00348 (according to this webpage which I randomly found in the internet)
  • Getting one of the as ‘occasional’ marked side-effect from this arbitrary medicine (pain pills for headaches) I found in my medicine cabinet, those can include headaches (lol), Gastritis, Oversensitivity reactions and many more for your pleasure.
  • Getting one or more shiny pokemon within your first 25 encounters in an arbitrary pokemon game - 1/8192 * 25 = 0.00305
  • After having had a counter helix proc, the chance of having another TWO counter helix procs in a row with Axe in Dota 2 - 0.05570 * 0.05570 = 0.00310, because of PRD.

Having gotten a CW Fragger loadout that’ll never get used, I can’t decide if I preferred the notion of never getting one or having one that’s useless. At least it’ll keep my Obsidian Vassili company in the trash.

If your willing to spend that much just get the 10 cw bundle with the guarenteed case… done.

Also I have 3 and only spent money on that bundle to get the cw cards, and 1 dropped from an in game container.

Does SD want these things to be of value and rarity or of actual use?

It’s rare enough getting one, let alone one they can actually use.

Please SD, make Obsidians and event cards special, in that they are just skins, not loadout cards. It should be a medal of dedication and loyalty, not “I drew the jackpot.”

It’s BS that dedicated players can play through a games lifecycle, and potentially miss out all the rare items, while a new player can step in because “Free Phoenix looks cool” and then get a CW card out of sheer luck.

I have 3 cards - Kira, Aura and Phantom. The problem is that they are respectively my 11th, 12th and 16th merc in order of gametime. So unless I go out of my way I’m also in the 99%.

Around ~150 CW cases + ~150 regular cases and the best I’ve got is one silver card.
