I think PB defaults to checking the rate client cvar for valid range (max 25000), I’ve seen people kicked off my servers for setting it to some crazy number (ie, if you bake a cake for 3 hours in 350 degrees, then it should be done in 15 minutes if you bake it at 5000 degrees type of thing, I suppose). I could have been just settings from PunksBusted or something, though…

PB by itself doesn’t enforce any cvar restrictions, except for a couple of cheat protected cvars. Many common configs do require 25000 or less. This is a bit retarded since sv_maxrate on the server sets the absolute maximum, but PB only allows IN, not greater than.
