Sometimes when i join a server I get a massage, that sounds a bit like
" Cvar = 5000 Must be 10000 to 15000 " How do I chance this “Cvar” (what ever it does) :banghead:

I am not a good with computers , so as simpel as possibel. :???:

Thanks.

Some servers increase the rate-cvar to prevent Analog or ISDN players from connecting (rate defines the bandwidth used for the connection to the server). When you have a good connection you can safely change this value, e.g. enter /rate 10000 in console to change it (or edit the etconfig.cfg files).

Open up your console. This is done by pressing the ~ key.

Then type the following:

/seta THECVAR 10000

where THECVAR is the name of the cvar that is named in your disconnect message. I’m guessing it might be “rate”.

Using seta will archive the setting change so the next time you start ET this setting should still be set to 10000.

also opening the console and typing the following command in will give a list of all the cvars being restricted by Punkbuster on the server (note server admins set what the actual restrictions are, PB just enforces them).

/pb_cvarlist
