Hey all,
Wondering if there is such a thing as custom matches where it can be restricted to level, equipment (e.x. melee only) and mercs. If there isn’t, does anyone support the idea of the creation of such an ability?

It’s been discussed before, most people say it wouldn’t hurt, though in different ways
Nexon stated they won’t let people host servers, or let people ret their servers.
So no, such thing does not exist and it probably won’t be implemented, since it would be hard to decide who decides mutators and restrictions since noone is a server admin.
Although you can play private matches with friends and make up your own rules. But everyone just has to follow them with free will, or it won’t work.
Nexon doesn’t control everything, Splash wants user available servers, so they will happen in some form (prob rental)
Hmm. So they want to change the server hoster of DB? Have any source or link for this?
I don’t believe we have ever said this.
Even if we did, community server support is coming, but I have no further information aside from that.
@RazielWarmonic could we have small update where we could use commands in private matches do modify game mostly for lolz?
please
it sucks that your in beta for so long and still no sight of finishing beta, if people could rent servers i would defo pay for my own, its awful when you play vs laggers with 200+ ping

Okay. I am 100% sure Faraleth said it in a thread a long time ago that servers will always be hosted by Nexon, when someone asked if we could rent servers or make community maps. There even was a big fuss about it for a while with a banned member. I’m trying to find that comment. I don’t want to sound like: “Evil Faraleth said that, it is this way now” or saying he’s true/not true, aswell as you, but this was a valid information by a Nexon representative and I believed it.
And I’m surprised that we will get rental servers. Nicely surprised.
Edit: Only found a screenshot about this @RazielWarmonic

I feel like half of the information we get is subject to change anyway. I remember them saying that they wouldn’t let us host our own servers, but I don’t think that would apply with community servers where all we receive are some kind of admin powers through a rental system.
I remember when they said they weren’t going to hold players hands and that it was an extremely high skill ceiling game. Then they nerfed everything into the ground.
I have an idea, you guys! Play cs:go. It is pretty much DB except its not free to play, and ALL of the transactions that take place are aesthetic, like dirty bomb. The only thing really missing is you can jumpsnipe easier in csgo and there arent sticky little gifts. But custom maps out the anus and plenty of community servers! Also it doesnt render with cpu so it doesnt get shitty framerates! you guys, this thing can run it: http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_0682.jpg
right so your saying csgo is better, huh? a game with random accuracy that takes like 500 hours to be able to play at all in multiplayer (in terms of skill). dirty bomb is a game where it is easy on entry, but is difficult to master. think before you speak my friend, after all, these are the ‘dirty bomb’ forums. if you want to talk csgo, find a forum for, i dunno, ‘csgo’.
@Jostabeere I don’t understand why you thought Faraleth represented Nexon. I thought there was a statement in his posts that basically said they were not. You can see it in your picture.
“My views and my opinions are my own. I do not represent the opinions of Splash Damage or Nexon in any way. I am simply a volunteer moderator who’s here to lend a hand.” – Faraleth
From my understanding on how this Community works. Shoe is the primary representative of Splash Damage. Raziel Warmonic is the Primary representative for Nexon.
Being the primary representative for Nexon, Raziel Warmonic is the one flying back and forth from the Community to the Nexon Overlords. I can only imagine how tired she gets beating her wings constantly doing that as well as all those reports. I find that she is the one we need to listen to as far as communication between Nexon and the Community is concerned.
At least that is what I have noticed.
@AnonyBOSS I think custom matches would be cool myself. Maybe some day.
Because I believe he asked them about this topic as an official Nexon moderator. Also this post is from times where Raziel wasn’t our CM and MissMurder didn’t respond to this topic at all as far as I know. Again, I don’t want to make Fara the evil bad guy with this picture. This was the only official response about rental/community servers till now, and I treated it as the truth. I am a fan and not a fan of the community servers idea at the same time, because even though they are an advantage, they can be abused, and I had bad experiences with community servers in other games back in the days, but now I am happy that Faras statement seems not being valid anymore.

bb. Im not saying CS:GO is better. personally, at least i like both games equally. And heres the thing. I SUCK at Dirty Bomb. Level 21, but get this: 400+ hours. I took 3 times the time to get to level 21 compared to most other players. And cs:go? Yea i suck at that too, but 30 hours in and im mid to top of all scoreboards. I play with P90 and AWP, but only AWP on larger maps (or dust 2) The learning curve is about the same, but ONLY because the matchmaking is a little off in Dirty Bomb because its still a WIP. I assume once DB is out of beta it will have a way better learning curve. Im just said if you want custom servers, private servers, custom maps and more play csgo, and thats ALL i said. (oh right, i also said it can be run on any pc made since 2001, and DB needs a beefy cpu)
Maybe we should be clearer: We’d like custom servers, private servers, custom maps etc. … in Dirty Bomb.
