Custom Matches?

@Jostabeere

Why did you consider Faraleth’s response an official response? That is what I am having trouble understanding. Faraleth has basically written a statement in his posts that states he does not represent Nexon which in turn implies that all of his posts are not official responses. He is a volunteer moderator that does not report to Nexon as far as I understand things. Granted I have not been active in the forums for long. Things could have been different before I got here.

I am also wondering why you think Faraleth’s statement completely relates to the topic of the thread. To me, it only relates partially and deals with matters which seem like “standard” busines practices.

Now, I do see that that the whole matter is important to you. I don’t see you throwing Faraleth under the bus with that picture. You are just seeking clarity and peace for a pain that concerns you. Everybody does that.

@The_N00B His views and opinions don’t represent Nexon. If he says: “EA is shit” it’s not Nexon thinking EA is shit. But official answers he gives people after he asked some bigger fish at Nexon are representing the company.
For me, the topics are related, because custom matches require some sort of a host or admin. Someone who decides stuff for the match, you know? And to decide who this one will be, the most easy way is to let people get their own servers. Rent them, or whatever. And that was the point. Nexon stated back in the days they will have full control over servers, and not allow players to make custom maps/games/etc. The question which Faraleth answered with the post I linked was about custom servers and player-made maps/mods.

right so your saying csgo is better, huh? a game with random accuracy that takes like 500 hours to be able to play at all in multiplayer (in terms of skill). dirty bomb is a game where it is easy on entry, but is difficult to master. think before you speak my friend, after all, these are the ‘dirty bomb’ forums. if you want to talk csgo, find a forum for, i dunno, ‘csgo’.
bb. Im not saying CS:GO is better. personally, at least i like both games equally. And heres the thing. I SUCK at Dirty Bomb. Level 21, but get this: 400+ hours. I took 3 times the time to get to level 21 compared to most other players. And cs:go? Yea i suck at that too, but 30 hours in and im mid to top of all scoreboards. I play with P90 and AWP, but only AWP on larger maps (or dust 2) The learning curve is about the same, but ONLY because the matchmaking is a little off in Dirty Bomb because its still a WIP. I assume once DB is out of beta it will have a way better learning curve. Im just said if you want custom servers, private servers, custom maps and more play csgo, and thats ALL i said. (oh right, i also said it can be run on any pc made since 2001, and DB needs a beefy cpu)
soz man, i didnt mean to appear rude or anything, i like csgo, i just thought you were fanboying csgo. soz i appeared rude, was not my intention

“EA is shit” is not an opinion

(AnonyBOSS) #25

Well, here’s the thing. Coming with a bit of a programing background, it’s a HUGE task programming all the custom servers, and have rules set in place to ensure the quality is good too. This is extremely hard, and for Nexon, it’s simply “No” so they don’t have to deal with it. Therefore. as a community, if we all really want this (who doesn’t like all phantom slice-and-dice tdm as all invisible? That’ll be fun! . . . I hope :P) we, as a community, may need to make a petition to make it happen. The Consumer is always right.

(The_N00Ba) #26

@AnonyBOSS Honestly I would say lets wait and see what exactly is going on. Raziel Warmonic did say “…community server support is coming…” in a post above. I am also pretty sure she watches the forums like a brid of prey. I confident she tries to keep an eye on what is important to us.

@Jostabeere I can see why you thought the topics were related. I honestly feel there is a lot more involved in this topic than what appears at first glance. I also feel the same way with Faraleth’s posting. At this point though I think most of this is moot. As Raziel Warmonic stated above “…community server support is coming…”. Things are changing. I think we should focus more on the future rather than the past. What do you think?

you mean RNG sprays: the game?

I get a little salty when people start telling me my games arent good, and thats how you came off (the first time i read your comments) I re-read them and it is actually not that bad. Sorry for salt. And yea, i can see how it looks like im fanboying csgo, i am just trying to say that there are custom servers there, so that should tide us over until its implemented in DB (It tides me, at least)

(Jostabeere) #29

Well, it actually is. The recoil pattern is set. But the spread itself is random.
I would just link this video to make it clear.

(AnonyBOSS) #30

Ok, I’ll answer the CS:GO stuff first so we can STOP TALKING ABOUT IT ON A DIRTY BOMB FORUM (Hint Hint) They follow a set pattern (typically Lissajous Curve) but where each shot lands in that curve is randomized.

Now we got that out of the way, let’s stop talking about CS pls.

Not to be rude dude, but most pc f2ps are in a “beta” format even when they’re released. It’s just a formality of when they feel like saying this is the full game. And then they add DLC, which is why it’s still in a “beta” format. Only f2ps where the only thing added is cosmetics, will you have a Free 2 Play game that is NOT in a beta format.

So really dude, stop complaining. Look at MWO, their game was considered beta until it hit Steam, and they claimed they wanted it to be out of beta and on steam 3 years ago. That’s 5 years dude. FIVE YEARS.
If you want new content, then a game in beta, which means it’s constantly being worked on, is almost like a promise of that.

EDIT: I’m saying this because back in the day, when a game went “Beta” it meant all of the game’s primary content was out, there were a FEW bugs, and basically the “beta” was just a test field of the game before release. Usually it was a single player or multiplayer lite demo. Then when the game was released it would have EVERYTHING. That is why the term beta these days isn’t the same as it used to be. There’s constant add-ons, unlocks, bug fixes, patches, etc.
