Perfect for me.
The ProMod server is up and running. I have not had time to work on the custom maps. Apparently cloning Custom Map Nirvana and putting it on a NA server is actually pretty complicated because the original server was a Linux box and our servers are Windows.
You don’t know what gmt+1 means, are you serious? :rolleyes: Better fix your singature finally!
So 8pm GMT+1 this Sunday on which server btw?
I will not play on Nirvana because i dont know what is GMT +1 and no one explained (its ok), and i will not be able to access forum on saturday and sunday. Need to go now! Bye!
Good game!
8pm GMT +1 = 9pm GMT. The +/-n (where n is a number is how many hours ahead or behind a timezone is from the GMT timezone (GMT = Greenwich Mean Time). Have to say though, I agree with Rex on the not knowing part, thought it was common knowledge. You could just google if you didn’t know though.
Uh? 8pm GMT +1 is really 9pm GMT? I say its 9pm CET GMT =UTC but not CET. GMT+1 = CET
@Don: Its 5pm BRT
Its 9pm in Europe and 8pm in UK/portugal.
Server: Nirvana or awesome dudes?
Ok guys, since so many don’t know I’ll explain it now: GMT means Greenwich Mean Time and the number like +1 here means one hour ahead.
GMT+1 is the German time, GMT+1 8pm is 7pm for guys in the UK and 9pm for the Finns. If someone from UK says: Hey let’s play at our time GMT at 8pm, it is for the Germans 9pm (because +1 hour ahead) and 10pm for the Finns (because +2 hours ahead).
And yes GMT+1 = CET.
That’s common knowledge if you play more internationally.
So 8pm gmt+1 would be 7pm gmt (8pm cet)?
Thats what rex just explained…
Right you are. Timezones and notations can be so confusing. Might as well keep it simple. 20 cet is simpler than 20 gmt +1 or 20 est + 6. (Not to mention potential problems with summer and winter time.) It seems to me that misinterpretation is bound to occur more often, because of added complexity. Not what you want when you want people to meet at a specific time.
