A new blog entry has been added:
[drupal=411]Currently Hurling Controllers / Mice At… Wars and Sequels[/drupal]

The latest edition of Currently Hurling is here and packed with new releases! After the rather quiet patch that was January, a truckload of great new games including Dawn of War II, Street Fighter IV, Halo Wars, Resident Evil 5, Empire: Total War, Men of War and of course Killzone 2 has arrived and they all need to be played.
Without further ado, let’s get to the Good Stuff and find out what we’ve been playing:

Curse my lack of employment, I’ve been unable to try much in terms of new releases the month! Though I have got myself a pre-order for Chinatown Wars. It’s been a return to older titles for me in the main, just finished playing some Rogue Trooper (picked up off Steam for a couple of quid) - which while not amazing is a pretty solid 3rd person shooter.

Spent the last few nights running through the L4D campaigns on expert to knock that particular achievement on the head, now all I need is another 13,000 zombie kills! L4D Versus and CoD4 domination have been sucking up my evenings and my days are spent doing portfolio work (other than the odd “5 minutes” on Bejeweled Blitz via Facebook).

@Aubrey ‘Bezzy’ Hesselgren (Technical Designer)

What is your gamertag? Let’s get some hadouken matches going on STREET FIGHTER 4 !

Anyone else that has it on xbox can add me too for some friendly matches.

HilariousCow’s the name. Chewing fireballs with focus cancels is the game! Might be busy for a few nights, but hit me up for some matches if you see me online!

Thanks for the matches. Why do I get the feeling you were going easy on me?

Rich - Guile alright?

Not only WILL this end in tears, it has even BEGUN in tears.

To anyone even contemplating playing Dommafia at any form of electronic leisure entertainment whatsoever, gaze upon his ETWQ stats and despair: http://stats.enemyterritory.com/profile/120925?page=summary

You’re wrong, Ed, he didn’t cry at all!

Dom has a formidable Balrog, but decided to go easy on me after a few matches, and worked on his Seth. Force of habit, I threw Ken down (occasionally Guile and Dan) and just won the decider as we stopped our session.

Had dom taken me on with Balrog more often, I’m convinced he would have won, though.

And, just for the record, I was crying for completely different reasons.

Seth? it was ABEL mister! You won 7 games and I won 6. I didn’t go easy on you :stuck_out_tongue: (although I should probably say I did to safe face.)

I think I improved my ABEL so our next session will be more interesting… hadouken! Any other arcade nuts around them offices? bring it on!

Oops! Yes, you’re quite right. I get the names mixed up because they’re both new and have 4 letters in the name. THIS IS HOW MY MIND WORKS.

(gooey79) #15

So I notice quite a few of you lads have a PS3, but I don’t see any PSN ID’s.

Feel free to add me - gooey79

I’m playing most current games i.e Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV etc.

Some of you are playing some really excellent games, for those swithering over Chrono Trigger DS; stop swithering and go buy it. Retro gaming at it’s finest!

(Ging) #16

So does SF4 play nicely over the net? My past experience of console fighters has been that even the slightest lag has made them pretty close to impossible for the client machine (which of course, acts as a superb cover my general lack of ability in fighters).

(dommafia) #17

I’m very pleased with the netcode. Just play vs people with “3 bar” connection or higher.

I’m a PS3 person myself. I might challenge you as long as you’re not one of “them” that dream about how the player hit box can be used to link combos.
PSN: Flawe

Be afraid Flawe - Dommafia can challenge you on ps3 too! ;o ;o ;o
