[drupal=332]Currently Hurling Controllers / Mice At… Calm Before The Storm Edition[/drupal]

We’re slowly creeping towards what’s looking to be another completely insane holiday season littered with great releases. Among others, Fable 2, Quantum of Solace, Gears of War 2, Mirror’s Edge, Far Cry 2 and of course Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic juggernaut Fallout 3 are all coming out within the next month, so this is promising to be a great time for gamers.

It’s been Lego Batman in the most the past few days, mixed in with some Warhammer Online, Hinterland and World of Goo.

I also got Mercs 2 finished off last week (coop awesomeness!), if I can get Batman done by Friday I’ll be in a good position for Saints Row 2! (I’ve gotta keep working to stay ahead on the leaderboard!)

Welcome back Ging

I’ve been tempted to give this a try, how does it compare to Lego Indiana Jones? (in my view the best Lego game to date)

Yep played it a lot with Randles, great fun, although a tad buggy in places. Just need to get the damn 'Everybody Wants Some!!’ Achievement, but no one on my list has it :frowning:

It’s better than Lego Indy, in my very humble opinion!

You know, you guys REALLY need to shut up with your “other games”.

World of Goo is where it is at currently. Shut up and conform to the World of Goo Corporation! I WILL fight anyone who doesn’t.

Hah, yeah, been a tad busy - but saw the “hurling controllers” post in my rss reader and had to catch up!

It’s better than Indy, the suits that you use as batman / robin add a nice bit to the game and explains away the somewhat reduced cast in their story sections.

I’m fortunate enough to have some crazy achievement whores on my friends list as does my coop buddy, so I was able to pick it up fairly easily!

I whole-heartily concur, Monsieur Bezzy! World of Goo is fanatastic, I am addicted and have to go home every lunch to play.

More goo games please…

(stealth6) #8

I just got the world of goo, too easy so far, but I only just finished chapter 1

did get stuck on the last level for a bit, I didn’t figure out that the eyes of the fish thing were also goo
(I made a tower to the top of the screen lol)

so had to destroy my tower attach the eyes and fly away haha

no pure?

(badman) #10

I’ve actually been meaning to try Pure (the demo has been sitting unplayed on my HD for like a week now) - I’ve heard good things about it, but the prospect of playing an ATV racing game isn’t a very enticing one to me. :frowning:

(Fluffy_gIMp) #11

I played the demo, it felt a bit like SSX Tricky crossed with Motor Storm.

(Flawe) #12

I played the demo as well. I wasn’t really impressed. And I like Motorstorm. I’m a huge fan of Excite Truck which is probably one of the best games I’ve played on the Wii, which Pure reminds me of a little bit as well. But, meh! The controls felt a bit dodgy and I wasn’t motivated to wait around to get the harder tricks available.

(Fluffy_gIMp) #13

Whaaaaaat?!! you clearly haven’t played enough Wii games

(Flawe) #14

That’s probably true
What is recommended? I haven’t had my Wii hooked up for like 6 months so I’ve missed a few games.

(Ging) #15

I’m deeply enjoying Saints Row 2, managed to recreate the awesome street combat scene from Heat with my housemate earlier this evening - we promptly climbed into the SWAT armoured vehicles and took to the streets letting nothing get in our way. (They’re deeply cheaty things those bears, armoured and a minigun?)

If you’ve missed Mario Galaxy or Mario Karts or Zack and Wiki, they all good fun
