Current patch Time To Kill (TTK)

I liked the super long TTK we had several months back, but I appreciate that this is not to everyone’s taste.

The TTK of last patch was acceptable (maybe still slightly too fast, but bearable), but of the current is way too fast, so I voted for slower.

However please don’t fix this with spread, current spread is much much nicer, bullets actually go where aimed.

Goals for TTK… IMO:

*Encourage players away from camping and corner hugging
*Encourage players to complete the primary / secondary class objectives
*Confidence in damage model - better player usually wins, and both parties in an exchange should know that.
*Encourage players to take on multiple targets in one exchange (creates “highlight moments”)
*Creates room or space for the combat nuances of each class
*Creates room or space for different skill levels (easy to play hard to master)
*Clear advantages and disadvantages b/w tap firing / burst firing / full

So with that in mind, lower rof.

Note going to vote to many variables. This patch was awesome most of my bullets actually go where I want them to and not some random spread.

I still find it hard to kill multiple people even when dinging heads with the medic gun; then I’m out of bullets before I know it. Lower Rate of Fire and 4 HS with the medic gun. I believe TTK is a little to high right now, especially on some guns.

This maybe just me but I find it really hard to find the head when people are just randomly running in-front or across me.

EDIT: Maybe 3 HS with Medic Gun!!

where this :slight_smile: is on the scale is ideally where i’d like the ttk to end up but not from tweaks to recoil/spread but rof/damage fall off over range. I find if the server is full of comp players, the game can get pretty intense with instant deaths mainly from the environment advantages/disadvantages without giving time to overcome any of these if on the receiving end. (especially taking damage from across the map from players you do not encounter in your face).

Generally the weapon spread/recoil characteristics make handling the guns, very fun and rewarding right now. I personally also thought the hitboxes had increased in size, i actually wanted tighter hit boxes as it felt so much easier to hit everything but according to anti in game they haven’t changed which i find hard to believe…[/quote]

I’m taking it for granted that most people seem to like the new spread, but some folks feel they die too fast now. I don’t want your votes to be “don’t nerf spread!” I want them to be about if you feel people die too fast :slight_smile:

Tweak it with lower damage not rof. I like the rof on guns as they are tbh.

Love the smaller spread. If you was going to change anything i’d say lower spread a tiny bit more and decrease damage! :smiley:

last patch i had few 60 sec dance-offs. i got so tired i just give up.:slight_smile:

Agreed. Nice spread - it’s great being able to aim accurately at a distance! - but deaths are a touch too quick.

Yes its impossible to killing spree and escape now .
With low hp you can t do nothing.

The previous patch was much better for TTK. This time round its back to dying, or appearing to die in 1 shot, more CS style which is ok as a play style but not so much my cup of tea.

totally impossible, this update has a ttk close to 0 second … i really hate it. I mean take example on close quarter, that was fun to play

overall I like the current changes so far. Certainly am all for the lower spread,etc on the guns. although I do still feel like some of the pistols(you know who you are lol) are too overpowered. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t feel like a pistol should automatically win a gun fight against an assault rifle. :wink:

In regards to the discussion regarding raising the skill ceiling and/or rewarding bad aim I would just like to offer this:
rewarding bad aim can also be viewed as making the game more accesible to players who don’t live and breath fps or play competitively.
Likewise, raising the skill ceiling can easily alienate these same players(who like it or not make up the majority of the game buying public).
Speaking as a totally average player who lacks any 1337 skillz I can tell you there is absolutely nothing more frustrating than playing an online game where only the best of the best are able to succeed or get rewards. It just sucks.
One of the things that was great about et and etqw, and is great about objective based team play in general, is that it can allow players to achieve in more ways, and any step in that general direction is ok with me. Just my 2 cents anyhoo hope it halfway made sense hehe.

I voted for it because I like the way the guns are now. The RoF needs to be lowered but it’s now possible to get kill streaks. All HS damage should be a flat number. I was thinking 30 so it’s 4 HS for every class. Soldier still has an advantage with 20 dmg body shots +15 hp.

Voted for slower TTK.

Spread is finally pretty good so we can actually start balancing… pretty much anything. It felt useless to think about balance before. So I’d say lower RoF and body damage are the next things to test.

Also more love to sniper and more falloff to other guns. It’s not enough yet.

It may be worth starting the poll again then - I very nearly voted ‘I like it’! because overall the changes are good (the spread really is nice :)), but the ttk is to quick for me now and in that respect the patch is a step back to the who see who first wins CoD feel of the earlier versions.
