I keep a light blue corona around a small magenta dot as my crosshair. On about 50% of the servers I play, the corona disappears, regardless of adjustment in the “view” controls. The magenta dot alone is easy to lose track of in a firefight. Wassup? Bug?
Crosshair Corona Disappears
ETPro, Shrub, etmain, or a mix?
Can you name one server where it doesn’t work?
I would guess this is just a matter of different setttings getting used for different mods. Assuming you put your settings in a custom config file (not etconfig.cfg) just execing it should fix things up in that case.
Even without a custom config file, shouldn’t you be able to adjust crosshair style during the game? It will allow me to change crosshair type, it’s just the corona that won’t appear. I think this is mostly etpro servers, I’ll have to take more notice next time.
Yes it should. If that doesn’t work, there must be something else going on.
if you make a change in one mod, it won’t necessarily carry over to other mods. so if you have played in etmain and etpro servers, for example, then you change your crosshair in an etpro server, the changes won’t show the next time you play etmain.
mods look for the settings you have in etmain the first time they are run, so the first time you play on an etpro server, it will use your etmain config. that’s really the only time a mod will “read” your etmain settings, afaik.
the easy solution is to put all custom settings in autoexec.cfg within /etmain, since the game scans for that file on every startup, regardless of the mod being played. no need for an autoexec in each mod folder, unless you want different settings for each. the etmain autoexec will be applied to all other mods - be aware however that total conversions like tc:elite will most likely require quite different settings, so in those cases you should also have an autoexec within that mod folder to apply those unique settings for that mod only.
