Credits too hard to gain

(Borganism) #41

I’ll be honest, I just earned 10k in 24 hours playing through 4 mission cycles. It is not hard.

Support XP missions are easy. You have Aura and Skyhammer at least who rake in support XP. Most of the time I can complete the highest tier support mission in 2 matches. 3 at the worst.

Combat missions are easy, even if you cant aim. Play as skyhammer and rain down airstrikes everytime you can.

Game mode is easy on an EV map. Escort the EV (stay close to it) or blow it up as skyhammer for MAD game mode XP. Other maps arent so easy.

If you want the credits, play for the mission, dont play for ‘but I wanna play as Vasilli, wahhh’. If you arent good with a particualr merc, dont use them for missions, use them when you are waiting for missions to refill to get better with them.

True, mercs are 50k creds and when starting out it does take a while to get into the swing of things to purchasing them. Once you figure out a system (as outlined above) for missions you earn creds pretty quick tho.

Oh, and dont keep an eye on how many creds you have until you are kinda close to your target, a watched pot never boils.

Currently I only play every couple of days and Im buying a merc every 2 weeks. A new merc every months means i keeping ahead of the additions easily.

tl;dr : It’s not ‘git gud’, its more about playing smart.

(Resine) #42

Well I am not playing the game to drop ammo boxes to force support mission.

(avidCow) #43

Credits are in a good spot, but perhaps a little less is coming in due to some of the bad missions like comp and secondaries (gone now).

(FireWorks) #44

Good thing about firesupport mercs… They can do firesupport! They are the second best killer class in the game and do a lot of good. Dishing out some ammo inbetween is easy and still very worth it.

Easiest way of killing is never running out of bullets (actually health but you get the point).

On average I get more support XP from Sky than from any other medic. Simply because I can still kill people reliably and dont need to wait for my mates to get hurt.

Credit from normal play is pitiful and forces players to focus on only missions to make any sort of bank
Which means to make consistent credits you need to play every 3 hours and focus on the missions themselves, which takes away from actually playing the game.

Possible solution instead of the 3 hours system is a full days missions all at once that reset daily. So thats 24missions a day to be completed whenever the player is online.
This would allow the average working person to play just at night and gain a good amount of credits. It would also stop the incentive to not play when no missions are active

Or you can just heavily increase the credit gain from normal play giving players incentive to actually play your game for what it is and not just a mission credit grind

That’s a terrible idea, people on average would gain much less credits than they do now. If you want to play then play, even if don’t have any mission to complete. Even if you have them, no one force you to complete them. It’s up to you.
Btw the average working person should get to understand that he can only get that many credits per day, not forcing everybody else to earn less just because he can’t earn more due to real life.

(raptHouse) #47

it cant add up. as people keep saying, simply playing one game of stopwatch and objective everyday gets you 1000 credits simply for being there, win or loose.

Did you fully read and understand his post?

He proposes 1x24 missions instead of 8x3missions per 24hours. In what cases would this decrease the gain of a person?

I don’t know why you keep telling me im wrong or some glitch in the system but all I am saying is I am bored with Vasili’s bolt action. I want to feel like I am unlocking mercs and loadouts that I want but I just keep getting bolt actions. I keep getting high ranked cards I cannot even use, gold, silver. I have no low cards to trade up. I have got a run of about 8 bolt action snipers in a row. Each day I log on just to grind so I can get a gun that is not a bolt action. It has been days and days now of just getting bolt action snipers. Today was exactly the same.

And because of this I keep getting bored with the game and logging off. You can tell me I’m wrong or bad all you want but all I was doing was humbly making a suggestion about the game. How can I be “wrong” when we each have a unique experience playing the game.

Go become a statistician if you are all so against my personal experience of the game

You know for 17,500 credits you can buy the exact loadout you want.

(formidableWhorl) #51

Just give us a way to sell cards for credits. simple. then my inventory wont be stacked with gold and silver cards for mercs I don’t even have, while I play for a week just so I can HOPEFULLY get ONE new gun, if the odds play out in my favour.

Because odds are I will have found a new game in that time

(terminal) #52
have been playing 4 days or so.
lol.

(formidableWhorl) #53

Wow I love how insulting everyone tries to be. Do you just scan forums trying to find someone you can try feel above by using text? How does the fact I have been playing 4 days negate the fact I am not having fun playing? And even less fun having to deal with people on this forum.

(formidableWhorl) #54

You all just assume I am bad at the game. Yeah, some games I will go 5/10 kdr against level 35’s… Many games I lead the team with 30/15 against level 35’s (im level 5)

It really says something about where peoples heads are at when they think if someone doesn’t like a game they must be bad at it.

Don’t project your own concept of fun on games onto me. I don’t sit here getting off on my score. My favourite thing about this game, personally, is actually the gritty audio samples. I don’t sit here spilling my Cheetos trying to take a screen shot of my score in time.

(modernBlast) #55

It says with, for example, "Aura in your squad!. That does not mean you need to actually play Aura, just that she’s in your squad. So if you hate that merc, don’t use but still complete the mission! Pay attention to the type of experience also.

Also you can get whatever loadout you want for only 17.5K credits!

<>.

For me this is the easiest most non-grindy FTP game I’ve played; I think I got 50K in maybe 3-4 days? Hell even WoW was more grindy than this - in 2004/5 it could take you months to get to level 60 before all the game guides came out.

As other have said you also get huge credits just for playing
500 for First Objective
500 For first Stopwatch
500 for first win
500 for first competitive etc etc.

Also about 2000K for missions which refreshes every 3 hours or so! In addition, about 200 credits per match or 100 if you play really badly.

Personally I don’t even bother paying attention they credits roll in so fast.

(Litego) #56

Well you did say in the OP that you were bad at it and didn’t like it because you couldn’t earn XP fast enough to do the missions. You get more XP by playing better. So instead of using 6 hours to complete a mission, you can do it in 15 minutes.

@formidableWhorl You can report a specific bug here: http://forums.warchest.com/forumdisplay.php/53-DB-Bugs-Exploits-and-Technical-Issues

Mate, just ignore them if you don’t like it. Some of us are actually trying to help you whilst others are being d*ckheads - don’t lump us together.

-and your snarky responses aren’t helping you either. If you want our help, for crying out loud, at least take our suggestions on what you’re doing wrong into consideration.

The people that are actually trying to help aren’t saying that you’re bad, all we’re saying is “your claims don’t add up”, especially compared to our own credit flow.

You are doing it wrong. First don’t waste time grinding for loadouts. Just stop. Save the credits for the mercs. You will get free equipment cases just by playing the game normally and at each level up, and that provides you more than enough leads for all of your needs. If you really are that desperate for a loadout, save 17.5k credits and purchase the one you like in bronze.
If i were you i would start saving 30k and purchase Sawbonez (medic, for support xp missions) or Proxy (engi, for game mode xp missions).
Also from what you said in the whole topic i suggest you to stop trying Vassili, it’s not for you. Don’t be discouraged, i also main Vassili and i sucked at first. Try other mercs and improve with them (especially the aim). When you’ll return to Vassili after improving you’ll see a difference, and that’s where you decide if you want to main him and what type of gun you like the most.

I don’t believe you ever saw/answered my earlier question. It sounds like you are using every single credit you get to buy 1000 credit cases. That is the worst thing you can do with your credits. You only buy those cases once you’re swimming in them and do not need them for much of anything else or if you really want to do a trade-up and are a lead/iron short.

You can click the Store and click on the mercs and buy the EXACT bronze card you want for 17.5 credits. Also, you said something about buying a better gun? You can’t buy a better gun in DB. You can’t buy power at all. You can get different loadouts that come with different guns but you can’t buy power. And the “higher tier” cards aren’t more powerful if you’re referring to silver/gold/cobalt. Those cards are skins only and cosmetic. They are the same 9 cards that you can get at bronze (there are only 9 totaly cards per merc).

Save your credits and buy the bronze you want. Save your cases you get from playing and trade up for a chance at a card you want. And save credits for a new merc. Do not buy the 1000 credit cases right now. It’s the mistake almost every single new player to DB makes. Those cases are best bought when used as filler for a trade-up or later on when you don’t have anything to do with spare credits and you want to go for cosmetic loadouts.
