Credit Rewards... You guessed it.

The credit rewards feel a little dull in this game. Just played 8 hours over the past 2 days, doing at least 6 missions, and have only made a measly 8000 credits.

The problem, is that I need 50,000 credits to buy a merc that I want. Currently, this is about 1000 credits an hour including missions, meaning I need to play about 50 hours just to afford one merc.

Could I just suggest that we raised the base credit gain to maybe 50 credits per minute in game?
That would be about 500 credits for an average 10 minute game, then adding in badges for maybe 600 credits per game.

600 credits per game with the occasional mission would be maybe 4,500 credits an hour, apposed to the current 1,000 credits.

I really don’t care what happens to the credit rewards, as long as they are heightened or reworked in the near future.
How can I buy shiny stoof making less money than a McDonald’s fry cook ;___;

(pardon if the maths are off a bit, i went to clown school.)

It’s ok as it is. The devs still need to make some cash or there wont be any credits to grind.

agreed here… also i think if everyone can unlock every merc right away, there will be little incentive left to play the game for very long. people will get bored a bit faster.

(babyblueFist) #4

Agreed as well.
Just play during the mission times (every 3-4 hours) if you want to maximize “profit”

If it’s that easy to get all the mercs than the devs won’t even have any chance of earning money.

I would still prefer SD to add in more unique cosmetics though, like weapon tags, tattoos, and the sort.

I have 150k credits after playing since the launch of open beta, would easily be 250k if I hadn’t bought a few bronze loadouts or traded up a ton of cards. That’s in around 90 hours of playtime

You basically get a completely free merc every two weeks if you’re somewhat dedicated. That seems perfectly fine to me. There has to be some incentive to get impatient people to spend money.

50 credits a minute sounds great!

(N8o) #9

Seems alright to me. If you earn them too fast, you’ll get all the mercs you want.

Also, realistically, how many mercs do you actually need to unlock? Sure, maybe one day, you want to unlock all of them just because you have a bunch of credits sitting around, but you only really play maybe 4-5 mercs actively.

Some tips to make credits:

  1. Play every day. You get 500 credits for your first stopwatch match, objective match, and win, totaling up to 1500 credits from 2 games if you win 1 of them.

  2. Play when the missions reset. Finish the missions as fast as possible, then wait until the next mission reset, and repeat.

Doing this can net you a lot of credits if you can do it fast, and avoid spending credits on trading up/cases/buying loadouts. At my 60 hour mark, I bought my 3rd merc, and of the 3 I bought 1 was a 50k merc.

I can never agree with this enough times. I’m at the point where I have all the mercs except for Rhino (who I don’t want) and Elite Cases are about as unappealing as it gets. If I could buy cosmetics/skin cases that would let me apply a skin to my existing loadouts (or some other appropriate system) I’d buy a few happily, but otherwise the game has no real way to get money out of me. By the time each merc releases, I tend to have the credits saved for it - or at least close.

I don’t think credit gain needs touching now - if you play daily to get your 500 credits for a win/objective/stopwatch mode, then complete your missions, you’ve made a decent sum in a small time. If you want to be “efficient” about it, take a break and come back after your missions refill so you don’t burn out on playing, too.

I just play the game like old school FPS games. Just there to play. Don’t get the need to grind…but I do get the stat rush

From 12 credits per minute to 50? What a sparkling idea.

The credit gain is fine, focus on missions and daily rewards.

As an aside;

The only thing I want to see is a ten or twenty percent credit bonus for the winning team in a public match. Any form of tangible incentive for people to actually play to win and not simply tdm. Victory token perhaps, and three gets you another case?

That’s a great idea.

I think the credit rate is about perfect. It encourages spending money but doesn’t require it in the least. I bought Proxy for 30k, then bought the ultimate starter pack for $30 (no refund for Proxy). I’ve since bought every remaining merc with credits. So from open beta to now (a month?) I’ve spent $30 and have all mercs unlocked. I think that’s completely reasonable.

I even have 50k saved for when Phantom goes live, and by the time he does, I’ll have enough to get the bronze loadout. And by the time the next merc comes out I’ll have plenty of credits to buy it.

If it got much faster to attain mercs for free, this game won’t last long because they won’t make any money.

literally made 50k in 4 days, it’s fine. You dont need to have every merc in the first few days playing the game.

(ThatRandomGuy) #16

I literally make about 15k a day :stuck_out_tongue: ( i play only at night).

Personally i am never going to buy anything in its current state. If they come up with cosmetics, aka reskins of guns , armor , collectables , random stuff that makes my char unique , then im ALL UP FOR IT ! My biggest spent in one game is 3784$s , and i would spent as much as that , if DB started selling cosmetics INSTEAD OF FORKING RNG BOXES !

8k in 8 hours ?!?!
Lol, its possible to make that much in 1 day, in 2-3 hours(in 2 runs to make most from 2 mission sets), just simply by playing objective and completing missions.
And if youre all run’n’gun, then its your problem.
Credit gain is more than sufficient, id even say it could be lower.
1k from first game and first win(could even be 1.5k if play stopwatch).
Average 130 creds per 10 minute game, 10-14 games in 3 hours run = 1.5-2k
Average 750 creds per mission, 6 missions in 2 runs = 4.5k
And thats average, its possible to make even more with a bit of effort. Just by playing game as it meant to be played, instead of deatchmatch.
And with crates dropping from games as is, there is even no need to buy those.

This. If Mercs are currently the ONLY way they can make a reasonable amount of cash, then… there’s a TON of room for improvement in business model. Just because it works for LoL in today’s cult following of a MOBA scene, there was never a guarantee that it would work for an FPS.

While the credit gain is somewhat tolerable, pay2progress can be just as unattractive as pay2win when the grind isn’t fun or addicting. The gameplay itself is (IMO), but this Merc grind will hinder this game because they’re basically locking integral game mechanics, those of the different Merc archetypes, away from the player. Did you guys see the first OBT free rotation with no Engineer-type in it? Complete disaster: going up against a team that HAD an Engineer disarming C4’s faster than we had to crawl to arm them, airstrikes destroying EV’s faster than we could repair them, etc.

Also, this grind virtually punishes casual gameplay of “play few hours and get off satisfied”. The game can get stale without a variety of Mercs available to you, which will put off some of the more casual gamers that make up an overwhelming majority of the video gaming community, and thus be a hindrance to the concurrent playerbase. To make matters worse, the customization of our Mercs via Loadout Cards must be restricted if we want more Mercs sooner.

50 credits every minute? that’s way too many, that’s almost 1000 in just one objective match.

(Szakalot) #20

how the hell did it take you 8h to complete 6 missions?
