It is a bit much currently. I mean I’ve played 100 hours and can almost afford my second merc. Just the SECOND!

In the end though, there’s only really going to be the one merc you like to play a lot, and you’ll play it 90% of the time aside from completing some missions you can’t with it.

Be happy that this game is actually f2p friendly, believe me you won’t find much better elsewhere. At least in this game i can have the mercs i want with the loadout i want (even if only bronze) without spending a cent.
