a big guy (engi) with some sort of engine at his back that lets him Dash forward a few cells, hitting everyone in his way (pushing him away) and dealing dmg to both units if someone gets hit.

lighweight, 200hp , 12 energy, 1 energy for walking , Soldier (support fire) + some sort of closecombat using ability- doing 50dmg + (missing hp /2) - 4energy - 2 times usable - doing 25dmg to himself on every use.

This is a temporary buff to a single soldier. This single soldier will be impenetrable to damage for the next 3 turns. At the end of the 3 turns all damage that has been dealt will be inflicted at once + the soldier’s energy will be cut in half for 1 turn.

Something lightweight as a weapon (6-shooter, knife, cockler, etc)
Few ideas for abilities:
-Dome/Bubble Shield - lasting 3 turns, sustaining ___ amount of damage before collapsing
-Weapon Crate containing a surprise power weapon with 1-shot OR bonus energy for one more shot with current weapon
-Slippery Slide (Select a target area to blast and “freeze” a 3-4 square line - enemies walking on effected area “slide” across. The purpose would be a Bitter Sweet/Pro-Con ability; in that if blasted under an enemy it slides them further or closer, respectively or could be used to slide across 3-4 squares without tasking your given energy amount)
-Splash 'Nade or (Double explosion - 1st explosion low damage, 2nd explosion opens up into several smaller grenades with higher damage to the surrounding targets within a 4 sq. radius, through cover. 8 AP to use)
Devs can pick 1-2 abilities to to alter and tweak, stats and ability graphics.

“The Terminator”
Hybrid type: Heavy Soldier/Engineer
Ability: 1) Immune to any support/return fire of any character
Ability: 2) Self-Repair: heals it’s own self
Note: these are the only two abilities that this unit has. Support fire and repair are not included.
Note: this avatar will be cool if it look like half-man-half-machine looks of Arnold in the Rise of the Machine. Other skin will be the full terminator skeleton or the woman(enemy) who played as the anti-terminator terminator in the rise of the machine. COOL!!!

I was thinking about something like this too and calling him The Sapper. Guy with a barrel of TNT on his back and and his abilities are “Dynamite” where he throws a stick of TNT similar to a grenade and “It’s over man!” Detonates dealing as much damage as he has health left, or half or something. 18 energy but 3 to walk and uses engineer weapons so hes not very quick for obvious reasons.
I like the idea of 2 guns soldier, esp. for the lightones. The new type could be an airborne trooper with the ability to arrive in desired time and area.
A two gun soldier might work, but they would need to implement some new things into the barracks for that to work. … and I would think an infantry that can carry multiple weapons be heavy instead of light. The infantry would come with an otto semi-auto and a stumpington shotgun and it would cost 1 or 2 units of energy to swap weapons during their turn.

Special Abilities:
Upgrade 1: Costs 4 energy to use. Adds 2 more health pips onto any mechanical units. Has infinite uses.
Upgrade 2: Costs 4 energy to use. Increase range by 2 blocks. For the recon bot, it increases its detection radius by 2 units instead. Mobile shield and block are maxed out at upgrade 1. Can only be used if upgrade 1 has been applied. Has infinite uses.
Upgrade 3: Costs 4 energy to use. Increases energy by 2 units. Extremely deadly on turrets which can now fire 3 times in one turn… which is why it is the final upgrade. Can only be used if upgrade 2 has been applied. Has infinite uses.
Upgrades are shown on the mechanical units as chevrons, with a maxed out unit displayed with a star under or near its health bar. There is only 1 upgrade button displayed for the soldier and units that can not be upgraded anymore cannot be selected when the ability is clicked + a star is shown by its health bar.
A melee oriented unit to counter the heavy heal defense out there.
Mentioned the war hound further up. But the banner bearer I wrote could also apply some damage to break the healing.

His title is “the assassin.”
A light commando with a Smoke Grenade that conceals a large area (same as gas/fire range) of effect for three turns that" ghosts" anything in the area (until it fires or uses an ability, as usual), and Support Fire. Give him pretty much the same weapon choices as Dave. Name him Smokey Joe, with the tagline “The Bandit.”
A medium commando with a Flash Bang and Riot Shield. The Flashbang has the same range as other grenades, a cost of 4, and blinds it’s targets, increasing the cost to fire weapons (but not to move or use abilities). The Riot Shield is an activated ability, not a deployable, with a cost of 2, that doubles the cost of all movement but halves all damage taken (or maybe reduces by 33%, needs to be effective but balanced). This character can only equip short range one-handed weapons, but comes with a new 6-pt weapon, the “Shorty,” a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun with an even tighter range than other shotguns that is wielded in one hand and has knockback 1 (the rest of his weapon selection is engie/riot-based, as is his art design). This Commando’s name is “Simple Simon,” with the tagline “The Crowdpleaser.”
A Heavy commando with a Toolkit and a Mortar (works as commander ability artillery except that it has a longer range but can’t be used quite as close). The mortar is a deployable and operates on it’s own once activated similar to other engie weapons. His weapon selection is that of an Engie, other than the Assault Rifle he comes equipped with. His name is “Charlie Tango,” with the tagline “The Rainmaker”
A Heavy commando that starts with a melee weapon and the Support Fire ability, and a new ability called “Tackle” that allows him to charge into an opponent’s square (provided he has enough move), causing knockback 1 and damage, but leaving the target in melee range because he now occupies their former square. His name is “Bull Coleman,” with the tagline “The Linebacker.”
