Ok what i mean is this … i know already i wont be playing Proxy or Nadder … but i always get those from the crates and now i have like 10 cards of Nader 6 of Proxy 5 same cards of Vasil … and for my favorites Merc nothing zip null …
i Hope We will be able to trade them with other players …because if not … this will get frustrating really quickly
Crates will get boring
Trading via steam like in TF2?
Hm.
I could see this work and/or make the game worse.
For example, like, when you are a high-level-player, and you receive a high-lvl-item.
And your friend starts to play, and then you gift/trade the high-tier-item to your newbie-friend… He will “pwn” other newbies when he’s playing against them.
In DB however, there doesn’t seem to be a level-restriction.
Just like TF2, you receive random drops, that’s it (maybe later we’ll be able to buy loadouts from the shop, I think).
Then it would be good, if we were not able to trade bought loadouts from the shop, IMO.
i don’t mean trade via steam … but trade in-game … card for card
'cause i don’t need 20 cards of merc i won’t be playing at all
Getting duplicates is what bothers me more than anything else with crates. A person who plays long enough should be able to get most of the loadouts without having 5 useless duplicate bushwhacker loadouts wasting space in his inventory.
This is what im talking about … i have like already 10 exactly same cards of Nader for example
What about card trade ins? 5-10 unused cards get traded n for another crate to open.
If we get the option to sell loadout cards for Steam wallet money that would be nice.
I’m still a bit confused about this crates/keys system. How often will we drop them if we play on a regular, let’s say 1,5 hours a day ? If you have way more crates than keys, it will just be painful to open a crate, hoping to have this wonderful loadout you were looking for for days/weeks. And finally get the useless loadout on a merc you never play that you already own three times. Therefore, I think randomising loadout drops is very frustrating indeed.
In my opinion, and I hate to say this, but League of Legend’s system where you can both buy or play enough to get the champion you want is way less frustrating for players.
And by the way, we still don’t know how Nexon and SD expect to get income from the game.
Selling skins for mercs and weapons ? As long as they don’t ruin the overall graphic styling of the game, why not…
It’s possible that they won’t use steam market/wallet because a significant part of the money you spend there will go directly into steam’s pockets…
There is also the possibility that this is done on purpose. All games implement some sort of “grind” to keep the players motivated for a bit longer. Also, there are different rarities of cards and although it has not yet completely been confirmed that the rarities are valid gauges on scarcity, some load out cards may be more apt to drop then others.
There is 100 % a need for a trade system - OR - a crafting system based on the crates.
I for one will likely be a slave to the RNG until I finally get a DB epic Proxy card with the correct augments, but hopefully Steam can work this out
Considering that you level up your mercs, I think it’s a fair point to add merc levels to cards. Like for an Epic Phoenix you’d need at least lvl 5 on that.
Why? Loadouts are supposed to be balanced, an Epic one is not necessarily better than an Uncommon one, it may just have a more unusual weapon combo or a cooler skin. Putting level limits will only create one more situation where you can get a useless card (even if it is only temporary).
There’s also a crafting system being implemented soon, so for all of those pesky doubles you can create it in to one you want.

Is that confirmed?[/left]
This weekend I’ve ended up getting 6 Fragger cards, all of which were the same and had a primary weapon and passive build I genuinely didn’t like at all, I’ve gotten rare cards for Vasili which did make me go for him for a bit, but the card didn’t really seem suiting for what I like in a sniper, which isn’t a role I’d enjoy playing to begin with, the ability to trade cards or crates or as what I’ve seen purchasing crates all about just a specific merc would make it much better, my only complaint about crates is that they really do tie too many variables, unless in the future SD make a card with EVERY possible weapon and passive ability combination I can’t see this going well, along with that the fact that the cosmetic skin for a merc are based on what card you’ve equipped make it a tad silly if you don’t like what that card offers, cosmetics aren’t really all that different to begin with but it’d be a bother to enjoy a look but not what it’d mean weaponry and passive ability wise, aside from that. the way the cards are presented appears really choppy for me at least, screen tearing and the likes. Not sure if this has to do with unlocking cards in games like hearthstone but the idea of unlocking a new cosmetic outfit for a character and weapon/ability combination feels like it should be really exiting and bombastic, making the mundane extraordinary. sure one can just skip it, or watch a bunch of spinning cards, or a crate having a keycard slipped into a crate on a desk, steam hissing out as the crate unlocks, opening or detonating as it revealing a card in the wreckage, suddenly to have the character showcase the abilities and weapons in question, along with their new outfit.
“suddenly to have the character showcase the abilities and weapons in question, along with their new outfit.”
I like this idea of a demo showing the ability differences when you look at a card
Just make a pseudo-CS type of market with loadouts instead of skins. Allow tradeups and trade between players and no level cap.

The loadout thing right now is just silly, but if you’ll be able to craft your loadouts, then I guess that’s great.
Hopefully, loadouts don’t become ‘pay to win’ thing.

Highly unlikely, what players will need to pay for would be keys or possible unlocked crates, while there are SeriesXX crates that don’t seem to need keys, their likeliness of having a loadout you’d want is low, on the other hand, there seem to be Merc Specific and skin specific crates that would need keys, (Hexagon Defense, Swiss Demolition, etc.) my only issue is that these cosmetic skins don’t really pop for lack of a better word aside from the possible beta obsidian skins there doesn’t really seem to be a much of a difference. Hopefully there will be huge changes on that and gun skins.
