covert ops suggestion

As it is so easy to lose the uniform disguise (eg shoot a weapon when an enemy soldier half way across the map happens to be facing you or someone looks at your foe a second or two) it should be possible to ‘regain’ the disguise. If you lose a uniform, you should get approximately 30 seconds to find a spot where you are no longer visible to the enemy, and must remain out of sight for a set amount of time to regain the old disguise. If it’s still not regained in time it is lost for good. All too often I’ve lost my disguise because my headshot on a enemy soldier didn’t kill him, and he flicks round in time to see my second shot - losing me my disguise. Even if we are the only two soldiers in the vicinity, I’ve lost my disguise because he saw me for a split second before his demise.

As a side suggestion - can we pleeeease get an option to remove the scope on the silenced rifle giving a more powerful shot but with sound and visible flash? It’s so annoying trying to snipe with such a pathetically weak weapon.

I agree with damocles here…you lose way too fast your undercover uniform.

I think that the only way to lose the uniform is to be DEAD.:slight_smile:
If enemy players realise that you are undecover they should go after you…chasing you…i cant return fire because i will quickly lose my uniform and there will be no more confusion... When i try to shoot the enemy with silenced weapons it doesnt help too much…after the first fire i lose my cover because the player just did a 360 with the mouse…they don`t even need to see you…
To keep this in a real way the coverop should lose his cover only if the enemy kill him.

I a game i stayed like 5-8 mins on the roof of an enemys building with nothing to do...just some detonations on some fences and minespoting..that in less than 30sec...then what?..i didnt wanted to lose my uniform by doing any shootings.

Here’s a good Covert Ops suggestion - how about making the sniper rifle one-shot-kill again? How much does it suck to hit someone and not kill them - and then with the ridiculous recoil, you’ll never find them again to get another shot… Gah.

Lame. De-nerf the sniper rifles.

Splash could make it so the enemy has to look at the covert op for a prolonged period of time or with the binocs.

Co-ops is fine. If you make it easier to stay in an enemy uniform then the co-ops will become too powerful compared to the other classes.

And when you say about losing your uniform when you kill an enemy with no one else about - well if there’s no one else about, STEAL THE UNIFORM OFF THE GUY YOU JUST KILLED! Then you stay in enemy uniform!

lvl3 was my record too

@bolty: exactly: if i shoot/stab yomeone and lose my uniform i take his. thats the easiest way i think

@cosmos: i think spotting a covert ops should be like spotting mines: u have to look at them and press a button for some time. Or something like that. Only FieldOps should be able to spot u instantly

@big duke: when using the minimum zoom, u can easily find your victim again and shoot a second time.
Or try this:
use minimum zoom, shoot once, find your enemy again (not that hard with this zoom), and then zoom in before shooting. This way u can make a sure chest- and a headshot.

thats a cool idea. field ops could spot disguised covert ops the same way covert ops spot mines…

otherwise covert ops should not lose their disguise…

Having given it some more thought, I think the COps should work as it is, but the spotting distance should be greatly reduced.

I think when viewing a spy undercover from a distance, the name of dead person should show up, but when you get up close you get no name. Bonoculars of couse would allow for instant spotting.

The spotting range would increase when shooting at someone with slienced weapons, but not by a lot. Also, perhaps make it so the uniform is lost only if spotted and the shot strikes an opponent. At the moment, I could lose the uniform just by firing into the air in front of someone.
