Counter Strike Map

(ARES) #1

When I try to download the CS map on this site, it results in a error (404).

I tried it months ago with the same problem.

Why that?

Pardon?

(BoomStick) #3

I think the error is occuring because THERES NO COUNTESTRIKE MAPS ON THIS SITE. :banghead:

That map seems to be available here:
http://www.gersonline.com/phpnuke/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=MostPopular
Though you have to be a registered user of the site to download it, which requires giving them a valid email address.
As they list the author as unknown, I am left to assume that this map was released to the public at large, so I have downloaded it and will make it avilable here:
http://www.dragon-tech.net/ET/the_dust_alpha2.pk3
Haven’t tried it, yet, so I don’t know if it works.

EDIT:
Got a chance to do a quick walk through, seems to work just fine. And its a rather good re-creation of de_dust. There are a few notable differences, like a few MGs sprinkled around, and a dynamitable wall blocking the shorter path to the boxes, but other than that, it seemed pretty close.
Might be fun to see in rotation on a server.

I think he means cs_middleeast, the Counter-Strike map we made for Games Domain, rather than a CS map someone else ported to ET.

I don’t know where it’s gone - it’s just another in a small list of files we seem to have mislaid when moving the website to new hardware a while back

Well get to work slacker  bops Wils Happy New Year m8!

The map which you uploaded is not the map which is to be downloaded at Splashdamage.com! The map must be 5 mb big but your file is only 188 kb.

Splashdamage should fix the broken link.

Yup, that would appear to be the case. Sorry, was working on limited information, and what google turned up.
