Cool story, bro! From tonight. Haters need not apply. Nothing to see here.

I like to toss a flashbang then start raining down eznades on them after banking them off some nearby surface so by the time it reaches them and they see the grenade symbol its already exploding.

Or i flash then fire eznades in front and behind them so when they run the other way they just got sandwhiched its funny to watch

That combo is pure evil as Sec on top of the wall at SecTower. We dominated that match yesterday.

(Solarcrest) #23

Yeah also a good idea is to cook the flashbang so it goes off in the air, i end up getting more people then normal that way lol cause usually they see the sky just a bit and it counts as flashing them

NOOOOOOOOO! Dammit, for some reason, that kickass game isn’t showing up in my stats. Freaking lame. All I got is the short game I just played at the end of another CC match. Dammmiiiiitttttt.

Oh well. Lame. Poop sticks.

(SinDonor) #25

Yep, just confirmed it. I played one more match on Reactor and it instantly updated. Oh Brink, why have you forsaken me?? Shazbot!

If you see my games played, there should be a CC match around “4am”, after the solo Aquarium match but there isn’t. I think the host DC’d during the end of game screen, and I backed out. I wonder if that’s what killed it?
I actually made it into a few games tonight after work, but nobody from these forums was on. So I played 3 solo matches just to raise my Assault to 15, then took him into a public match. Of course, I get sent to CC as Sec, it’s 6 of us vs 8 of them and we’re getting spawn camped like a mofo with only 3 mins left. Soooooooo what do I do?*

TOTALY FREAKING DOMINATE!!!

That’s what.

Most of my dumbass teammates who didn’t bother to buff me ever, except for our two bots who revived me and gave me ammo like mad, were only good for cannon fodder distraction at the gate. It took me about 4-5 attempts, but I finally breached their D using my patented “Flash-Molotov-LobsterX6-Grenade-Kross” technique (now available worldwide at a Brink match near you!). Once they were down and their 2 turrets dispatched, I was able to plant a charge on the wall with about 10 secs left. Boom. Oh yeah baby. I was cheerin loud enough to wake up my deaf old dog.

Wall now breached and we had a couple of engies finally doing a good job at keepin the bot moving. I was still lobbing flashes and spamming Lobsters down every street when the bot finally got stuck near the crane, under the container arch. With only 1 min left, and pretty much solo, I ran around the backside where the ComPost is and ended up behind half their team that was now camping around the crane looking in towards their spawn. Surprise surprise, punks. *I did my patented FMLX6GK technique once again and was able to dispatch the 4 guys and a turret around the crane. Epicasm. It bought my team enough time to fix the bot and we made it to the crane in OT!

The rest of the match went much smoother, even though we still were under-humanned at 6 vs 8. We were able to get the bot to the container pretty easily, and it only took about 5 more mins to retrieve the package once the bot cut through. I got a few more last second kills escorting the deliveryman to the gate on the platform.

I am looking forward to seeing my stats on this one. Wish they tracked assists, I had a ton. I did get best Assault and finished with around 6K points, even though when I came into the game, they had already been playing for a bit. I think I was 5th or 6th in XP for all players, a couple guys got 10K and 9K. Whatevs, my team was stagnant until I arrived. Feels good to make the difference.

This game is so much fun.:D
flashes really help dont they. also useful on the map where you have to blow the bridge, as without it they can snipe you from the balcony.

it can be annoying when you are the only one doing the objective!

(wolfnemesis75) #27

Good stuff. You gotta love those Epic moments. Breaking through a stingy defense. This is why we play. Adapt and overcome.

(kaydawg135) #28

Great story. This is why I love brink matches can turn in your favor just like that if you keep trying by using different techniques and such. That’s one of the reasons I never quit or rage quit. Anyway great story.

(wolfnemesis75) #29

Patience is paramount in this game. The tide can turn simply by capturing and upgrading a single command post.

(Smoochy) #30

yup, i ve seen us come from the brink of disaster (pardon the pun) to win a round. ive seen objectives complated with seconds to spare and seen lockdowns for 25 mins when you think you are going to get hammered.

(Oz70NYC) #31

Getting through the 1st gauntlet on CCity is the tough part. Once you have the bot past the Res spawn, the rest is cake because you can use THEIR tactic of spawn raping them against them, since there’s only two ways out of the area for them as well. Excellent stop of survival, tactical know how and plain old guts. It’s skilled players who can improvise on the fly who can take a bad situation and turn it into a W.

It always surprises me when the enemy team doesn’t use them against us. The last few times I’ve been on the team doing the spawn camping, the other players just kept waltzing out into our open fire. Herp derp.

As far as being the only one doing the obj, it’s kinda ok as an assault, since only one guy can plant at a time on CC. As long as the rest of my team provides cover fire or cannon fodder.

Doing Engy and Ops obj’s are better with multiple teammates helping.

(SinDonor) #33

The difference in game play between playing with a bunch of guys you know and party up with compared to a bunch of guys all in solo and not team chatting is HUGE. So tough to get an organized attack going when everyone’s silent.

(SinDonor) #34

Thx dawg. Yeah, I haven’t rage quit yet in Brink. I have finished a game after getting my butt kicked and just said “Okay, I’m done for the night.” but never “F#$% this S#&#!!! I’M OUTTA HERE!!!”

Since I’ve been playing Brink, I’ve noticed that I do Rage quit more in BFBC2 and CoD now. Those games are so frustrating to play without the SMART stuff and all the uber-leet headshotters.

(SinDonor) #35

I used to make fun of all my silly AI teammates capping ComPosts. I’d be like, “WTF? Where’s my team at?” Now I get it. ComPosts are so worth it.

(SinDonor) #36

I have played in many CC matches where I’m on a good Sec team and we’re planting the explosive before the Res even can get to the wall. I usually end up only getting spawned camped when I’m on a team full of Solos or if I join a CC game late, like I did in this story.

(kaydawg135) #37

I agree with SinDonor.most people want to just rush out there and camp in order to get kills instead of planting the explosives or escorting the bot up to the gate. This is one of the few times I play as a soldier. I rather be a medics or op but I always go with the team needs me to be at the time because it about the team for me.

(wolfnemesis75) #38

Exactly. Don’t leave the charge to chance. When the ticker gets down to 5 seconds, go get the bot, change to your preferred class on the way by. Also, does anyone else do **** like this: When you run up towards the HE plant, do it with a Molotov cocked in your hand and throw it at the little broken hole regardless of if anyone is there? Its like a warning. Don’t get up in my grill!

(SinDonor) #39

The best way to camp as the Sec team on CC is to retrieve the case ASAP, then chill out near the crane and let the Res come to you. We’ve had a few matches where we’d be able to hold onto the case for 20 minutes while the Res just kept running toward us. We didn’t even have to spawn camp them. We just all hung out by the crane and our spawn. Then, with a minute or two to go, we win the game.

I especially like doing that IF the Res initially spawn camped us at the beginning of the game. “Yeah, you like the taste of your own medicine, punks?”

(SinDonor) #40

I throw the Flashbang, if I get the +30 I know there’s a guy nearby. If I get the +150, I say “Oh crap.”
