converting from W:ET to ET:QW

(inbredhill) #1

I have a customized server running W:ET. What is the process in getting the custom skins ported over the quake wars?

Magical Tapirs

It would require more than a little work. If you’re willing to do it, check out the SD wiki and modwiki for how to do ETQW modding.

Hint: Your server will be unpopular with custom skins.

So I am better off sticking with W:ET as that game is more modable? Or I should say popular if modded. I was just wanting to change the player skins and add some logos to the vehicles, maybe change the colors a little.

You’re better off switching to ETPro and dropping all the custom stuff. use lua for kill spree stuff and for the extra admin capabilities, and not be a novelty server

just my opinion

or you could pick a game you actually like best?

(inbredhill) #8

Novelty is kind of what I am shooting for. I am trying to recreate the world of GI Joe that we had as kids.

Sounds awesome. Do what you want for the game you want. Personally, I’d use ETQW, but it’s whatever you like.

All the work is done for W:ET. For ET:QW I would have to do a total redo, and well, I am not that learned in modeling as of yet and all the models were done by other people. And with Linux I am stuck with MM3D. Which I have yet to learn.
