Hey there Ifuri, good to see you again : )
There was some interesting research in the New Scientist recently about right-handers doing better using the mouse in their left hands. I can’t find a link anywhere now, but the majority of right-handers tested preferred to carry on using the mouse in their left hand even after the experiment period was over. And no, it wasn’t browsing-that-certain-kind-of-website left-handed mouse use either.
Sorry S.Monkey, that’s probably no use to you whatsoever : {
This is vaguely similar but not really the same as some reseach done with American karateka measuring their punching speed with dominant and weak hands. Turns out they were all faster with their “weaker” hands, possibly because they weren’t concentrating on how hard/fast they were going to punch.
One day I’ll be brave enough to try mouse in left hand, and right hand on the PL;’ keys. It just feels so wrong to start off with. But then, what pleasurable activity doesn’t? No, don’t answer that.
Edit: found some feedback, but the original article doesn’t appear to be online. Will chase up, if anyone’s interested. http://www.newscientist.com/opinion/opletters.jsp?id=ns244115
Edit-Edit: Result! It was research paper 099-131 by Alain Delisle at the Robert-Sauvé Occupational Health and Safety Research Institute in Montreal, Canada. http://www.irsst.qc.ca/fr/_projet_3040.html or in Applied Ergonomics, vol 35, p 21. Sweep the leg!
