I was expecting this seamless experience. Where me and 3 friends making us a squad would be in the campaign like Borderlands then when it escalated we would be joined by more players (squads) like tf2 then once completed continue back down to the 4 of us without leaving the game. I like the game I was just reading and watching everything I could about Brink it felt to me it was explained that way in the interviews. If you made the challenges in between the full mp it would have felt more like what was explained. I just wanted to get on the boat with my 4 man squad as they escaped and continue back to the 4 player campaign at the end of the mp map.
Give us AI control Like follow me, Need ammo, Medic, and cover me.
I like the maps I just want more time in them and more of them.
Have it tell me with a loading video how I did as it transitions back to 4 player. Example “Sarge that was awesome when you blew up the Barricade while Drake was healing Mike and then he setup a turret to defend Marcus as he ran to the boat with the intel. We couldn’t have done it without all of your efforts.” You then would know who helped complete the main and sub objectives.

I can’t agree with this enough. The ability to disguise yourself really needs to be in preparation for some helpful action. Not even being able to pull out a weapon and aim while disguised really limits the usefulness of this class’s defining ability.

  1. When a character is down and waiting to be revived, they have way too much “health”, I think it should be reduced, especially since the medic doesn’t even need to get close to them to throw a needle.

2)Can we customize our crosshair? pretty please?

3)I don’t know if this is intended or a bug, but when I am very low on health, or right after a fire fight, I can’t seem to heal myself or crouch…

4)We should have the option to switch characters without quitting the game as well as body type.

I like playing medic, but I am used to switching to the necessary classes when needed. However, if I hadn’t bought any of the abilities for the other classes, I am close to useless. eng without turrets? I got yelled at for that in a previous game since I was focusing on medic abilities and only switched because there were no engs.

  1. Filters on the server browser need to be enhanced, right now you can’t search for maps with X max number of players.

  2. You should be able to queue for a server instead of just getting the message “server is full”

  3. Party system.

8)can we have quick voice commands? like “I need back up”, “I need ammo” etc…, I didn’t notice how useful those commands were until they were removed from me :(. BRINK is so fast paced that I can’t afford to type for what I want or I will get killed.

  1. Let community create custom maps and share with others.

That’s all I can think of for now.

+1 for light lobby for parties. Helps keep the game flowing for me and my mates to just party up and then jump in and out of diff maps and modes. Continuity of a party lobby is awesome. Please add.

IMO I feel that taking off hack tools and explosives needs to be longer. Putting them on takes a LONG tiime and taking them off takes seconds. It should take as long or close to as long to take it off as to put it on. You don’t even get a chance to get back to the objective to try to defend it. By the time your half way there it’s been removed.

Im not even going to get started on your team AI, I have a couple posts on that already, but yeah team AI needs to be fixed.

On a side note, I am loving the game and all of the problems people are having are fixable ones.

I couldn’t agree more. SD is busy right now. Read Paul’s post about the fixes they have made so far. They are reading the forums and paying attention to issues.

It takes about a bajillion bullets to finish off downed foes. This may be for balance, but it seemed silly to me to have to waste so many bullets on downed foes. And yes, only a fool does not finish them off in ET games.

And this is exactly why SD shouldn’t listen to gameplay suggestions from players in at least the first month of the game. People need to learn how to play first before their opinions have weight. Downed players can be one-shotted with melee.

And make any choice you make in the game meaningless.

I have a simple (hopefully) and important fix for at least the players who use headphones. I play on the Xbox 360 if that makes a difference.

The problem is with the Tactical Radio, the scratching sounds mimicking radio noise literally hurts my ears. Not exaggerating on this. At times it seems to accumulate and blast all at once and makes me cringe. I turned down the “Dialogue Volume” setting, but now I can’t hear the dialogue.

The radio chatter scratch sounds are not only very annoying but hurt my ears while wearing headphones. I think it would be best to remove the random scratch noises altogether, or at least decrease them in volume.

Agreed on the radio sound. It makes my dog jump up and bark at the TV when it does that. So there’s one from my dog. Fix the radio sound please he says lol!!!

First off, I’ve been enjoying the hell out of this game! Good job Splash Damage.

The one thing I would change in the PC version is the keyboard chat system.

I want to say “GG” to everybody at the end of the match… :slight_smile: or at least call out somebody who did a good/bad job after the match is done.

I realize after the ending mission complete/failed sequence plays you are able to click on the “global” button to the left and chat in there, but you cannot see your stats at the same time and I haven’t seen one person (except me) using it after the match is over.

If it would be possible to keep the Global/Team/Fireteam chat system enabled by pressing a key and typing for the entire end parts I think it would encourage people to make friends and form strategies together more than the current system.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD: on pc please put in a filter that will only show servers that you can join at your current rank, IE get rid of the your rank is too high to play on this server message. Or at least show what rank is being played on the server in the browser so i don’t have to click a whole bunch of them and have a 1 in 5 chance of picking the right one

I agree with most everything that has been mentioned, and I feel that some weapon damages need some range tweaks. I try to use the shotgun but I hit a guy at medium - short range and he whips around and rips me with an SMG. I think the best way to improve the shotgun, would make it so the hipfire accuracy doesnt grow like the other weapons. Its a shotgun, I shouldnt have to ADS with it.

Note: I’m referring only to the Mossington shotgun; the heavy only shotgun is absurdly awesome.

Another thing that I would like to mention, is make it so we can unlock guns from leveling our characters. I didnt really like how I had everything available to me at once. I take considerable joy from unlocking new weapons to experiment with. Maybe do the same to attachments, but I dont want this game to turn into a “Call of Duty: kill farm to get new ****”.

Overall, the game balance is excellent, although sometimes I feel the SMGs are a bit ridiculous.

Splash Damage, you have put out a truly unique game, and for all the things that are not quite right with it, the things you did do right, far outweigh the negatives. Mad props on the SMART movement and Objective wheel.

Please keep up the phenomenal work!

This game has regressed, usability-wise, from Quake Wars. That should not happen.

Things I want to be able to quickly and easily filter:

[/li][li]Servers with a ping higher than 150
[/li][li]Servers I otherwise CANNOT PLAY ON.
[/li][li]Servers with my friends on them
[/li][/ul]

Features I want in the server browser:

[li]Favorite servers only, without querying the full 500 servers.

[/li][li]Server history
[/li][li]Proper updates to listed servers. (# Players does not update)

Despite anything I say in this post, I am enjoying Brink so far. Got it today for the 360 and spent a few hours playing with it and it’s enjoyable. However, like everyone else, we all recognise this game needs tweaking. Here’s some of the things I think need to be fixed.

  1. Improved Lobby system - Nuff said.

  2. More content - We need more costumes, accessories, weapons, attachments and maybe some more abilities.

  3. Better customisation - Being able to sculpt characters faces, body shapes, skin tones, hair colour, tattoo colours, etc in a much deeper way.

  4. Improve grenades - They look pathetic. The explosions look/sound more like farts.

  5. Make the Operative class worth while. Not being able to do anything whilst disguised makes it pointless.

  6. Maps, lots of maps - I kinda guessed we’d see maps in the future as DLC, but you really should put some out for free. 8 maps across the entire game in every mode just isn’t enough.

  7. Lag - I haven’t had too much trouble, but the few times it occurred, it broke the game and became unplayable.

  8. Graphical improvements - Lot’s of pop-in and textures still don’t load properly.

  9. Improve SMART - It doesn’t help much at all, it’s almost pointless. Plus not being able to jump very high with the standard A button press makes it look silly.

  10. More game types - I know this is an objective based multiplayer game, but would it hurt to have either some simpler objective game types or some Team Deathmatch? The game will get real old, real fast if you don’t add more in.

I reckon most of this of the above can be fixed through patching. I think i’ll leave it a week or two for more players to turn up (if they haven’t been put off by the bad reviews) and for some more stuff to be patched before getting back into it properly.

Couple of things I like to contribute:

1- Gun camouflage options. The game with so many customization surely should have more gun camos.

2- Option to turn off autorun when buffing team mate.

3- I feel like weapons needs some tweaking. Some weapons are much better then others. For instance Euston AR has better stats and makes the one to go for.

4- Weapon fire mod option. I really like Rocksteadi gun, but there are times I wish I could switch it to full auto or burst mod. Same goes for FRKN-3K AR.

5- Operative class used to have interrogation ability, I remember this from one of the dev videos. What happened to this?

6- New game mods, more maps, customization options etc.

7- Also red dot attachments. Could you make the dots on each one a little different so that we can have a cosmetic choice.

8- Release SDK to keep the game alive long time

There is more but I can’t remember right now.

1- Spawn raping on Container City: Possible Solutions could be: more exits for security or minefields like in Red Orchestra or more/better placed turrets

2- I have to disagree with the thread starter on weapon modding: People who still play rugged and raw with ironsights should get an advantage for that.Otherwise everybody is running around with silencers,red-dots,grips and dual mags and so on… Now it is a nice mix and everybody has their own way.

3- Choke points: With SD having so much experience i believe they did this on purpose to create a front where most of the action happens and to me it is more or less fine like that.

Some more flanking opportunitys on e.g. aquarium would of course be nice.What i absolutely don’t like are the choke points at the spawn areas.Spawn areas should always have multiple exits and many routes to exit so it can’t get spawn raped.Otherwise on Time attack this will be a very effective way to kill the clock on certain maps e.g. Container City.

4- Turrets are a little bit too weak in my opinion

5- Mines are fine in my opinion! Otherwise it get s too frustrating in a fast paced game like Brink.
