Yes, There IS A QUOTE BUTTON! Only if you use FireFox though…
I tell you, its a conspiracy!

the site would be …? hopefully not quakewars.com because I can’t access it, curse everybody who doesn’t provide a html version! I hate flash
As a Linux player, I must say I’m tempted to create an another ET:QW website. But with a twist, I would use every open and common format/thing which Internet Exploder can’t be bothered to implement properly. For a start:
But the major issue would be getting a server to host it.
you wouldn’t have to go into these special features at all, it’s sufficient to use standard css. i’ve digged through some css books and every book concludes that the IE is and has been by far the worst non-compliant browser out there. it’s a miracle to me that people are using it. and it’s a shame that M$ stopped developing on it in the year 2002, i mean they didn’t even fix the simplest bugs like the box model. the IE and all it’s subversions are a website developer’s nightmare.
i especially loved the sentence which occured in several books: “this method works in every standards compliant browser and internet explorer”.
(Also using the quote button :fiesta:)
Haven’t used IE in years thankfully so I didn’t know that it only worked in FF and not IE. Now I understand why there are so many namless quotes in here (Quote: instead of Wils wrote: for example).
I do that all day at work. Why would I want to do it at home?
It’s simply a different experience. Some people like the control of PC gaming. Others like the simplicity of console gaming. Some like their high-powered SLI rigs, others their huge HDTVs and 7.1 surround systems. Some like the free multiplayer against 50 or more opponents, others like the fact that their friends can sit down on the couch with a beer and a controller without needing multiple setups.
The same stuff simply isn’t going to appeal to everyone. That doesn’t mean a game can’t be fun for both sides of the debate.
that “beer” thing makes me nervous when it comes to Wii. i wonder how long it takes until the first Wiimote lands in a tv

What about people who work at home or have to do things from home for the convinience.
I have a few issues with console people, firstly there pride. Why do they take so much pride in the system they use. Take for example the TES4:Oblivion forums where people have XBOX360 in there sigs. Why are people so proud of it? Makes me want to rip my skin off. Secondly it is the bullshit they spew about there consoles just to try and get one up over the PC and think it’s some kind of victory. For example “oh huh yea I can sit on my leather couch and um with my 90 inch HDTV and uh play games yea and drink beer too”.
For many PC gamers the console is looked upon as a toy (rightfully so imo :P) and also for many of us we only get angry at consoles is when developers pull the dual development and sole console development. Take for example again TES4:Oblivion which could’ve been so much more if it didn’t have to meet the deficiencies of a console. And now we see Call of Duty (differnt developers though) switching straight to the console market neglecting the thousands of fans who supported the franchise upto that point. It’s this kind of stuff in my opinion that brings so many PC gamers to be hostile to the consolers. I am for one sick of the push to send all the good games (that matured onto PC) into the console market so they’ll make more money.
^^ you complain about people, let’s talk about you. in how far are you different?
let’s just assume it’s what you say and not hardware issues n testing costs n such: why should someone put work into something and earn less money only that it fulfills your desire when you maybe might or might not buy the final product?
and please nobody start to bash the xbox360, it will get some awesome games:
July 12 - Frogger, 400 points ($5)
July 19 - Cloning Clyde, 800 points ($10)
July 26 - Galaga, 400 points ($5)
August 2 - Street Fighter II’ Hyper Fighting, 800 points ($10)
August 9 - Pac-Man, 400 points ($5)
i mean, that’s what the power of the nextgen console is needed. i’ve always wanted to be able to play pacman or frogger or galaga.
:moo:
[edit: don’t link to ebaum please, the man is a thief - Wils]
Haven’t followed the threat.
For me the games for secondary platform console must have some special character.
Some years ago I’ve bought Nintendo Gamecube because of the Mario and the Nintendo exclusive games.
Haven’t played that mouch though.
Sticked to W:ET shortly after.

I dont understand your second paragraph. But the point remains games that have grown up on PC such as CoD is now being sole developed for console which means that all the fans of the CoD series are now being shafted for the console market because executives think they can make more money.
I didn’t show any PC pride there only my dislike for consoles.
I hate consoles more than Joe999 hates bots! - Wanna talk about a waste of dev time…
QFT!
Yes, consoles are great for Mario Brothers and Racing Sims, just dont rob PC gaming developement to put out a sub-par shooter just to make a buck.
Or maybe its not about the money… I could be wrong.
