So for some reason, as i was changing my colors mid-game, the game froze and shut down on me. The next thing i did was re-open ET and try to re-join the server, but what happens is it says i have no name or something and i cannot connect too any server because of it. How can i fix it so i can return to the games?

open console somehow, when you are in menu, if you don’t know how to open console - thats a whole other story

What he said and if u have no idea what console is put attached file in your etmain folder after unzipping it.
Replace blahblah with the name you want ingame 
autoexec.zip (140 Bytes)
Download file
Unzip it
Put autoexec.cfg in your etmain folder

it still disconnects me even after i did both of those things, to open the console, its just hittin the button under the esc button

Try creating new profile and connect. Open ET create new profile and try to connect.

On windows 7 or 8? It will DC you randomly. Make sure you are running your desktop shortcut as Administrator, and windows XP compatibility. If you don’t know how to do that, then just run this patch. I issued it to players on my old servers to resolve their DC issues.
