Configs

btw, just so you Brainiacs know, there are no devs here, just nexon employees

(pengr_cc) #22

Brilliant, then why the fuck is anyone even here

How can the developers get any information and feedback if they’re not on their own forum lol, and you complain when we call them incompetent?
btw, just so you Brainiacs know, there are no devs here, just nexon employees
So what, you just sit here and spout nonsense for your own satisfaction then?

@Nail
You are very rude. VERY rude. You may want to work on that.

Bro, it’s time to tuck your tail and sulk away. Literally everybody in this thread is telling you you’re being stupid, including D34th, who is a troll. You, like always, provide nothing of use to any conversation. You literally click that “POST COMMENT” button to see your post count raise.

This forum would be a much better place without you. I would rather a forum full of D3ath’s than one of you. Please, leave.

As you can see, AMD. Which, as I said, people don’t like to optimize for.
I mean, I run an AMD GPU and do fine. Your hardware is very, very outdated. It is below console level. This is beyond an optimization issue.

@Harlot
I am aware I am low spec, my point is that I was getting decent frames, certainly playable by my standards. And this update has ruined that for me, and many others. Any way you cut it, this game could very much use optimization.

It certainly could. But honestly, at 35 FPS with the lowest graphical config possible, what’s the point? You probably weren’t competitive with that low of a FPS. And many games don’t offer config editing.

I dunno man, I get people who have good hardware needing it due to optimization, but your hardware is beyond optimization and is just antiqued at this point.

(pengr_cc) #28

On topic, my problem with this game is that over the past year I’ve come and gone and played a little, and every time I come back my performance has significantly decreased. I’m talking, I’d get 100+ fps constantly in the early beta/alpha (whenever it was called Extraction on the Shooter Game beta or w/e).

Now I use a very very performance based config and get 40-60fps and can no longer play the game and enjoy it. Granted my build isn’t great, but still; a 50% decrease in performance with absolutely nothing added to the game?

I take that last comment back- only development I’ve noticed is taking mercs out and reintroducing them pretty much identical. Correct me on the intricacies if I’m wrong but not much else seems to have happened, yet I can no longer play the game.

(kittenishPond) #29

@Harlot
First off I was doing quite well indeed. Middle to top of the scoreboard consistently. Even a Godlike in my 32 hours of playing the game so far. 35 FPS is 100% fine by me.

Secondly I would appreciate it if you stopped being rude and looking down on me just for having low specs. I really do not think it is fair to judge me, and how well I perform in this game, by my specs.

Edit: Oh and also it wasn’t the lowest possible, I was using Outc1der’s config, I still had particles and models on high.

Even though I agree with you that those specs are outdated, this game is by far one of the worst I’ve played when looking at the optimization.

Even with high end specs I barely run with 200 fps, which has not been an issue in ANY other game I’ve played.

And as Pengr just said above, the performance has only decreased rapidly since the alpha stage of the game.

Here’s me running the game with a 5960X at 4.6Ghz and SLI GTX980’s, yet I disabled one 980 because the game gains nothing from a second card for me, and used to perform worse. now it just splits the load.

My GPU usage at 1440p never goes above 40% in DB, which should scream CPU bottleneck, but my CPU usage is 15-20% if that.

And i’m dropping into sub 30FPS, average of 60 and never seeing the 200+ that I used to get long ago in CB :confused: Plus the constant stuttering hell this game is makes 60fps avg feel horrible too.

So it’s totally not just low spec users getting abysmal performance. UE3 is an engine that has existed for 10 years, the fact in 2015 it performs this badly is pathetic. I remember UT3 being released and I could push that game on 60FPS+ with max settings on my 8800GTX back in the day. But now using top end hardware I struggle to do that on low in DB. The optimisation, or lack of it in this game is mind bending.

You try the whole disable the minimap/menu map fix for stuttering yet?

You’re going to be looked down on for your hardware because you’re a liability. Straight up, I wouldn’t want somebody running at 30 FPS on my team. It’s a disadvantage. Right now, you’re the moped doing 45 on the highway when the speed limit is 75. Don’t be mad you can’t go on the highway and demand they lower the speed limit; upgrade to an actual vehicle.

I’m trying to be nice, but 99% of your performance issues are on you. I feel for the guy with the 980’s and 5960X who is getting lower FPS than me, cause that’s optimization. But your situation is created by you not upgrading. You could find reasonable upgrades for next to nothing if you tried. If you cannot afford that, then you must understand that PC gaming is a hobby and requires expendable funds.

(kittenishPond) #34

@Harlot
Maybe you should try harder to be nice. It isn’t working very well.
I thought I already explained I perform well at the frame rate I was at. If the game was better optimized everyone would get better frames, including me. And please, frame rate does not equal skill. As I have stated I am consistently middle-top of the scoreboard, also I just play in causal lobbies, no comp. I just play to have fun. Something you may have forgotten.

I have been nice so far, kept my cool. Do not insult me again, please.

made a new fps config helps a lil wit gun flash and explosives. This the lowest u can get atm wit the new patch http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/14878/updated-fps-config#latest

(kittenishPond) #36

Thanks man, I’ll give it a try next time I feel like playing.

Yeah, been using that for a while, helped with some stutters, but still performs terribly.

I feel sorry for you, even though I’m not satisfied with the performance, I can’t really compare to that. I’m at least running with 200+fps stable with the following;

i7 2700k @ 5GHz
GeForce 780GTX

(BanHammer) #39

I remember Splash Damage saying on a stream that they want to make a “super low” setting. I don’t know anything about game developing and hardly any about configuring the game but it wouldn’t be that hard to do and make it a preset…?

(kittenishPond) #40

I agree, they should just have the lowest you can go with a config as a setting. Boom. Everyone is happy, they have their no configs change and people can have config low settings. I really don’t think it would be that hard, then again I have never programmed anything. Other than my watch.
