/condump file size

Hi, when I do /condump it only saves back a certain amount. I wanted to do /cvarlist then /condump but I didn’t get the entire /cvarlist in the text file. Is there any way to increase the amount of the console that will be dumped? Thanks.

Never mind, to answer Bludd’s question a workaround it to turn on logging by typing in:

/logfile 1

in the console. You will now find a file called etconsole.log in your etmain folder, or in the appropiate mod folder if you are on a mod server (e.g. in etpro)

Note: it appears to write Unix-style files, so use a Unix-aware editor or Wordpad to view the logfile correctly if you are using Windows.

Hi, thanks for the fast reply. I’ve tried logging before, but it’s always an old file, like it’s not logging for some reason. I dunno maybe I used a server log and only logs when I run local servers to test stuff. Thanks I’ll double check that. :slight_smile:

About the aimbot, I’m at a loss as to what you’re talking about. Getting the cvarlist is in no way cheating. Get a grip. :disgust:

This logfile is purely a client log - nothing to do with the server. When you test it, do a quick search from your ET top-level folder downwards & delete/move any existing log files.

Once you’ve got in game, done the /logfile command and finished playing, search again for log files…

To have a vast knolage of the engine can be used to your advantage… but…the ET coders being the smart arses they are though (prolly long and hard) and find several “tweaks”. r_picmip 4 and r_rmse 121+ makes tree limbs vanish. So all you would be left with is a stump. Sure in RTCW its an advantage to any one that knows the engine. SD realised that not every one is so skilled. r_picmip (texture detail) cannot raise above 3, im not to happy about this being a TNT2 user, but r_rmse (once again more texture detail) is unlimited. This means (on some servers) you can max it out at 999 to get some more FPS. Some PB on servers blocks it out. s_mixahead gives extra FPS at the loss of sound i.e. it goes gittery. Some thing Aus servers and some league servers did was block cg_fov to 120 max. Any thing above is considered a “wall hack”. If you press up against a wall with the side of ur vision next to it…say cg_fov 150 you can see through the wall. This is not what it seems to be. You CANNOT see entities through the walls. It is mearly like noclipping into a wall. you cant see people on the other side. Thats enough of my rant :stuck_out_tongue: back to the point. Cvars, used in the right way, can be used to get an unfair advantage. Like the large ID mistake on making r_shownormals 1 not cheat protected :stuck_out_tongue:

To sum this up. Cvars can cause unfair advantages. Even though they are not cheats. And getting a cvar list is no way a cheat o_O iv done it many times before in many different games. Does this make me a cheater? :slight_smile:

Are you telling us you frequent cheat forums? Because I have no clue what you’re talking about. If you saw the name “Bludd” on your favorite aimbotting forum, I should tell you that it’s a common name, referring to “Major Bludd” of G.I. Joe fame. I couldn’t register it for Americas Army because every possible combination was taken. So in short, talk to me before you accuse me of being some jerkoff on your cheater sites.

Duke’ku - please take your accussations to PM - or provide proof positive that the Bludd here is the same Bludd from those supposed cheat forums and proof that he is using them.

Until you do, please STAY OUT of a thread that is talking about perfectly legitimate game issues.
