Only people that trust this soft are hackers, because they know It doesn’t work.
And of course I can’t play DB without it.
And I think you should calm down. Your behavior isn’t friendly at all.
Nobody forced you to reply too. I was just asking, because reply from somebody working on this game should be faster than random support ticket on AV.
I’ve changed my mind about DB community thanks to you. But silly me, there is always somebody that isn’t helpful at all, just making others persons dumb.
Anyways, I’m also gonna visit Splash Damage forums, I hope I won’t see your response there.
Have nice day.
So I’m the bad end of this community and then you’re here calling me and many others a hacker “as we trust this soft”. Have you even checked what my other posts have ever been? I did more to help this game and this community then you have considering your post count. You should also know that the forums is not where you’d get the fastest “working party” reply. Finally, I’m sorry you feel I treated you badly but I’m sick and tired of all the people requesting a fix for their issue when computer software needs to be so adaptive that not every setup or configuration will work. Now you blatantly stated that you knew the solution to your problem and yet you refuse to use it:
And since I know XIGNCODE and how it behave, I’m not going to add it to false positive or something similiar. I don’t trust it.
This brat-like attitude is what led me to reply you in the same manner. How arrogant does one need to be to say: I’m too good for this shit, fix it. Get over yourself and do as others do or just don’t play the game.

This method is a ‘cleaner’ way to do patches and leaves less chance for errors during the update. This has a cost of more bandwidth for an overall more reliable patching process.

o.O How? In the end if you only change small bits, most of the packages’ content stays the same, so you basically overwrite stuff with itself.

Btw guys, if a program really needs to behave like a virus, then this isnt the AVs fault. Its the programs fault for being poorly designed. AV algorithms are generally thought out pretty well.
You may want to research how Anti-Cheat programs work.

Indeed, most algorithms are thought out pretty well, but why do some AV detect xing as threat and why most don’t? Those few must be the exception to the “good algorithm” rule.

Either way, developers should be aware of anything ‘wrong’ with their game files. Since not only Avast detects it, there could be something wrong.

If you look at the Steam reviews, many people don’t trust XIGNCODE. I’ve trusted it too, but after I’ve seen what it “does” in my computer, I started to be more cautious. But it was OK, but this “alert” kinda scared me.

I’m just gonna let it go, but if Xigncode will do anything with my PC, I’m not gonna be the one responsible for that

P.S. I do trust devs. But I really don’t trust Xigncode anymore.

@JohnS I have paid Avast and I haven’t had any issues with this being blocked.

You could honestly exchange the word xigncode for the name of any other AC and all of the statements would be correct still.

Apparently a new version of Avast just came out, it asked me if I wanted to update it today and said no. And I have no problem playing the game.

I’ve updated to newest virus definitions released few hours ago and removed xigncode files from exeptions, game started fine.
So there probably was some new version of xigncode not yet tested or something.

Good news that you’re able to play again and that the issue was only temporary.

Well somehow all the other Anti-Cheat programs ive encountered over the years seem work fine with AV. And i do know a fair bit about how they work.

Not really, considering that xigncode doesnt even work properly (looking at how many cheaters are in the game). There are many ACs out there that work pretty well, and tbh if i have to see the picture of that dude with his magnifying glass in hand i have to think whether it was a 12-y/o that wrote xigncode.

No, seriously, if you AC doesnt work properly and it blocks people from playing the game because it doesnt even work with AV programs then you should maybe just turn it off.
