[COMPLETE] Quick Update Regarding Credits! 3/30/15

(insaneCylinder) #21

Well this hasn’t changed anything. I am still getting the same low credit rates.
(Edit: Seems to work now, only tested on Objective mode though)

Didn’t even get anything after 100k xp to level 7 so that’s nice.

(unrealCoupe) #22

fix the problem that
your game crash when you loading map
becuse i delete the file that you say to delete and this is still dont work
i try to delete all uneral engine 3 folder and still this is dont work !!!

I dont really understand all the crying, part of the game is grinding and waiting for next cases to open. If you just want everything straight away, you can always buy starterpack. You have to remember that this is free game and Devs need to make money somehow.

On the other hand, there should be some kind on of competition mode where none of loadouts or all of them are usable.

I don’t think it’s worth the effort to grind that much, I mean you win a game and don’t even get a hundred credits for that match. That kind of effort is meaningless unless you really have a lot of time in your hands, which the majority of us don’t.

(unrealCoupe) #25

but i cant play in multiplayer mode i can only play in training mode this why i say this a lot of time becuse i cant play the game

Plus this is supposed to be a competitive multiplayer game and grinding for the best gear is not exactly a great idea for keeping everyone on a level playing field especially if that grinding takes weeks of very regular playing just to unlock one merc.

This is why successful competitive F2P games focus more on the cosmetic stuff than on items that actually affect gameplay. I highly recommend DB take some inspiration from how games like CS:GO and DOTA manage their F2P system. Even LoL, as far as I know, is mostly supported from people buying cosmetic gear rather than people buying champions.

(appreciativeBuster) #27

Look at smite, can buy with ingame favour or gems you buy.

Either way is fair game, just let people buy the merc packs and support the game already.

Yes I puke on freemium model too but whenever there are ingame methods (and you enjoy game) to acquire said cosmetics, heroes(mercs) why complain

Cheers back to fragging, now i’ll have EVEN MORE credits

Shut up casuals and start earning badges, easy 500-700 creds each match.

(fragon) #28

guys i know it may sound arrogant but u have to play and improve in game to earn more cuz i never got less than 150, its always around 150-250[before the patch], im always on top of the scoreboard.

(artfulSedan) #29

Oh good for you well I carried the game as proxxy and won it by planting the C4 in the last seconds of the game came out on top of the list and got 90c so yeah shut up.

And as i recommended in other threads: Add cometic items and better loadout cases (for example a case that has only the loadout thingies for one merc) that can be bought via cash. In F2P you should get the base game and every individual stuff you want you etiher have to grind or pay for. I wouldn’t mind if one merc costs 10.000c (with a buff to earned credists and a loadout box costs 5000-50.000 (from mediocre to really good cases) or something.
I WANT to spend money on this game because i like it and i want you to get some loan but yeah i’m not going to buy timesaver packs. Get some micropayment cosmetical items which change the look of mercs and effects and your pockets will fill.

As long as things that affect the game are not cash only items it’s not p2w .-.

(einstyle) #30

yeah well, sadly that was rather foreseeable
they’ll be hurting themselves more in the long run, just don’t say noone warned them

(Gruntel) #31

I’m really bad at Math, but let me try:
Fragger = 50 000 credits
1 game = 100 credits
You have to play 500 games to buy Fragger.
Average game length say 10 minutes. 500x10=5000 minutes, which is close to 80h.
So it takes 80h to unlock Fragger.
Again, I’m terrible at Math, feel free to correct me.
Regardless, game has turned into an endless grind. It’s not fun anymore, as much as I like it.

(BeardyDuck) #32

Unless you’re scoring ~20k points each and every round, I doubt you’re getting 150-250 credits per game. At ~14k points you only get around ~115

(Gruntel) #33

And still, 250 is way too little.

(Szakalot) #34

@Gruntel What needs to change are the missions. Thats at least 1.8k per day, and it seems like you can actually get a lot more, so I think your math is wrong.

But it seems there are some other ways to obtain credits on the horizon; so all of this together might just be enough to achieve the balance between F2P and people paying real $$$$.

I’d imagine something along 1 week of play to unlock one merc seems about right (10-20h?)
Considering the free-rotation to try out mercs you don’t have unlocked, +25k or so credits at start, it will be enough for F2P crowd to always strive for the next merc, but also enough incentive to buy them all on release.

I just hope we get to play with all 15 mercs before release, and they will keep producing new mercs in the future, rather than trickle them down at an awful pace.

(adeto) #35

@MissMurder
Any other information on this patch? 700MB patch for changing the values for the credits, seems ‘inefficient’ :stuck_out_tongue:

(Gruntel) #36

Fair point, but 20h to unlock a single merc is a lot. Especially in a week. How many people have 3 hours a day to play Dirty Bomb? I certainly don’t. 20h is still a boring grind in my opinion.

(Szakalot) #37

@adeto from Splash Damage forums:

shoe.

Improved Quickplay Functionality
o Fixed issues with players being put into full servers
o Quickplay now prefers lower-ping servers over more highly populated servers
o Now retries multiple times to connect to the preferred server

Fixed issues with Credit earn rates
o Increased by 33%
o Fixed a bug where some credits weren’t awarded correctly during Stopwatch Matches

Fixed issue with Equipment Case Drop rate being lower than it should be
o Doubled the drop rate of Equipment Cases

Improved Server Browser
o Displays a loading spinner when the servers are loading
o Improved performance

(Szakalot) #38

if you abandon the idea of grind; you might actually have fun with the game. Don’t play to have all the unlockables. Play should be fun for its own sake.

admittedly the game isn’t as exciting as when you have twice/three times as many mercs to fight with/against.

(Gruntel) #39

-You get X credits for the daily missions. Anything more than that and you won’t be rewarded as much.
-You can’t play with your friends untill you hit level 7.
When you remove the social factor and the sense of achievment when unlocking new stuff a game becomes boring quickly, no matter how good gameplay may be or how excited you initially were.

(Szakalot) #40

???
