Competition for Brink?

No offense, but you should be the last person on this forum calling people idiots.

aww, isn’t that cute, an insult hidden in such a way as to appear “civil,” you clever kid…

And for the record, we were strictly talking about the setting and narrative;

So was I - I never find WW2 games or movies boring, even know the settings and narrative are predictable. I actually feel like I’m a part of something when playing them, since it is taken from a part of history, rather than a plot from a Michael Bay movie.

And isn’t it amusing, that you insult others over subjective matters.

There was little amusing or popcorn worthy in that exchange. Shall we gestures back to the previous discussion? :slight_smile:

Regarding WW2, I think the setting is useful because it’s an epic world conflict that requires no explanation and, while it includes modern tactics, the variety of weaponry has an excuse to be varied.

Modern conflicts are dominated by assault rifles on foot and there’s little excuse for the highly differentiated and balanced weapons system of immobile mg vs bolt action rifle vs semi automatic vs spray n pray smg (and sometimes rocket and flamer spam).

My vote is with WWII. I just find that the actual grounding in such a massive encompassing chapter of history lends itself far more to a relatable experience and buy in from me. Where I feel they fell by the wayside is focusing on recreating massive battles in a single level and running out of ones people had actually heard of.

I’ll take the predictable “Hitler in the bunker with the pills” over MW2’s eel twisting BS story any day. :slight_smile:

This is my post on Steam…I also have high hopes for Brink. If they do a good job on this, I can see myself playing Brink for years. Its about time someone took the BULL by the horns, and put there heart and soul into making a game thats FRESH!!!

I could go on and on about the things I like about this game, and the HIGH moral attitudes that the Dev’s are trying to implement. Bottom line TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO A GOOD JOB

What gives me hope about this game is the AWESOME team of talent they put together http://www.incgamers.com/Videos/1313...Developer-Chat and I like the idea of a small Dev team of pros (old school).

Iam looking for something fresh to play,and from what I see I think Brink just might be it. CoD, Halo, and MoH will always be well…CoD, Halo, and MoH… nothing new there.
