Community Question: Favourite Wolf: ET Campaign Reward

(badman) #1

Our latest Community Question is all about Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory’s Campaign Rewards. For the uninitiated (and the mildly forgetful), Wolf: ET’s Campaign mode rewards players with upgrades for doing well as a particular class, using weapons, and generally surviving bad situations. These upgrades last for the duration of the current Campaign (so up to three maps) and include fun toys like instant kill backstabs for the Covert Ops, full health revises for Medics, double-strength air strikes for Field Ops, and flak jackets for Engineers.

What we’d like to know today, then, is the following:

Which of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory’s numerous Campaign Rewards are your favourite and why?

This is a multiple choice affair, so you won’t have to make any heart-breaking decisions here. Vote away!

Medic: Adrenaline self, longer lasting stamina bar means faster movement about the place… loved it.

If you don’t pick improved weapon handling you were probably some scrub. IF YOU CAN’T SLAM WITH THE BEST THEN JAM LIKE THE REST.

Assasin was my favourite. Instant backstabs where highly situational but oh so much fun.

Additional awards that I like in NoQuarter mod:

Level 9: Helmet Armour
Soldiers’ helmets get an upgrade! 40% reduction in damage from the first headshot. After that, the piece of armour on the helmet will fall off, leaving your normal helmet. Picking up an ammo pack will restore lost armour.

Level 7: Poison Needles
You get needles full of poison which you can use to disorient an enemy and obscure their vision. It will also drain their health at a rate of 20hp/second. Once poisoned, the only way to be cured is to have a medic poke you with their revive needle. Dying does not cure you of poison either, you will still be poisoned while wounded, until the poison drains your corpse health and gibs you. If revived by a medic’s needle, the poison will be cured and you will be revived. If revived by CPR, the poison will remain and you will be revived.

Level 7: Dynamite Prediction
Much like aiming at a tank or another player shows their name and health, you can now look at a dynamite to see how much time is left before it explodes. A newly planted dynamite has a full health bar while with an empty health bar, its timer is up and will explode.

Akimbo pistols please and thank you. Badatatdatatadatatatatttaddatatat!

ET Pro because it kept the spirit of the original game. None of this throwing healthpacks 300 feet across the map and double jumping in the air nonsense. (I had to answer now, because a few friends and I were recently discussing this).

Field Ops: Improved Air and Ground Support
Improved Physical Fitness
Covert Ops: Assassin

…Thinking
The Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory awards amount is pretty small.
I would like to see BF3 kind awards, but in WWII style…think how awesome it could look^^

(tokamak) #12

Quake Wars reward were even smaller though.

In a public server where people know what they are doing, or know how to abuse overpowered skills. The best settings are: Battlesense skills unlimited (max health, ability to see mines), all other skills limited to level 2.

Medic: Extra Clip
Light Weapons: Faster Reload
Light Weapons: Improved Weapon Handling

(Om3ga) #15

Field Ops: Improved Air and Ground Support & Light Weapons: Dual-Wield Pistols.
