Oh come on now, I changed my avatar before Auzners post… now it looks like I’m hiding! (had this av and sig for years, changed for Brink now turned back).

My patience over the last few months has diminished somewhat, and the little things that I would normally let pass by now seem to get on my wick far more easily than it should… double/triple posts, multiple duplicate threads, useless threads, opinion as fact etc etc (tho I’m not entirely innocent either). I’m coming up on 8 years here, and for 7.5 years it was a quiet, mature place for like minded people to hang out and discuss a common interest. The ‘influx’ of new users seems to have brought the overall tone down a little bit, and I guess I’m just old and grumpy and it’s taking a little longer to adjust to the shift in maturity level. ETQW was fine as it had its own forum, but well with the amount of people shifting from the Beth site to here, I guess here is the better option.

That being said, the more exposure SD gets the better, and I guess the more the merrier as they say. I guess I need to change my attitude on here or I’ll just end up making it less fun for myself… and that’ll be my own fault and no one elses.

I’m only here for one and a half year and I feel the same. It’s not about being old and grumpy, it’s about getting annoyed by less quality posts and more senseless/nooby spam. And there is no getting used to that :C

It’s not like you’ve published 300 papers. Content matters more than count. If you want posts so bad double and triple post all over to add one more sentence. Then look at Coolaguy’s very low post count and the rich content.
