Command Dictionary... ?

(squadjot) #1

I would like to know if there was ny official/unofficial COMPLETE command/variable list for ET??

NOT the one at RTCW4dummies…or Wolfenscript or what ever its called…

i want FIRM edition…not a uncomplete list of GUESSES of what the commands could be…

f.ex

  1. i would like to know why its now called (+)vstr and not just vstr…(and what does the -vstr do?)

  2. KeyOn KeyOff…explanation?

  3. Can u select the dualwield pistols by console? (and in scripting)…it MUST be possible??? :???:

  4. Can u control/disable doublefunction keys?.. (f.ex weaponbank 2 as covertops…is also a kind of weapalt for silenced gun)

i got lot of questions… :open_mouth:

(if theese questions are answered elsewhere in this forum, please link)

thnx in advance

jot

clear
cvarlist
condump cvarlist.txt
clear
cmdlist
condump cmdlist.txt

That will get you most of them, but for some reason a few don’t show up.

I just learned the akimbo bind from Planetwolfenstein forums

For colt code 37 and for luger code 38, so for an axis medic you would write:
team r 1 8 38

So the principle is team, class, primary weapon, secondary weapon

I do hope I got it right in the excitment, and for some strange reason I have not been able to test it yet

Lo Jot! vstr is not now called +vstr. The +vstr command is an additional command that was actually introduced in RTCW / OSP 0.83. There is no corresponding -vstr.

You remember that +button4 syntax I showed you? Well +vstr enables you to do the same thing, only more reliably, and it works 100% on all keys, not just Mouse buttons.

For example:-

set key_down "+attack; +movedown"
set key_up "-attack; -movedown"
bind KEY "+vstr key_down key_up"

This code would fire and crouch when key KEY is pressed (vstr key_down), and stop firing and un-crouch when key KEY is released (vstr key_up).

You can obviously put anything you like in key_down and key_up (and they don’t have to called that either) and no more “-command; wait; -command” type syntax to try and get the action you initiated with the down key press to stop, as is sometimes the case with scripting in vanilla RTCW.

Can’t imagine how you’d use it then, unless it’s just there for the sake of completeness. All the “+” commands have a corresponding “-” command, it’s just that they’re implied when you bind a “+” command to a key (i.e. the game engine automatically executes the “-” command when the key that the “+” command is bound to is released).

Yes kendle…i know what the plus / minus does…but exactly on the vstr…i think its strange…what could ever be used for…NOT execing a variable :stuck_out_tongue: ???

lol

And guess what! Ifurita has updated his page to include this. Ifurita you are truly an excellent person!

Didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t Jot, just saying the -vstr presumably only exists because the +vstr does. Doesn’t mean it can be used for anything.

Thanks

(squadjot) #13

u made that RTCW4dummies??..REALLY nice work.

(Ifurita) #14

Thanks

BTW, this is the closest thing ET/RTCW has for a comprehensive CVAR/command list - it’s actually done for Q3A

No doubt, Infurita’s site is the best hope to rid the RTCW and ET world of the noobs of the world

In seriousness, I think every forum operator should link to his site on their home page (as I do). More people that read his page , the less likely we are to be bombarded with questions during the games.

Thanks Infurita.

If you load up W:ET and hit /-vstr is says “usage: +vstr [down_vstr] [up_vstr]”.
I don’t think it wants us using -vstr :moo:

(must be in a map or it won’t say this)

BTW, before you do a cmdlist and condump, load up a map. I think some of the commands and such won’t show up till you do.
cmdlist will also list out any vstr’s you have made

(squadjot) #17

I already know that one…a very good start…but still…i got lot of unanswered questions…

thnx anyways
