Our mod is searching for a GOOD coder who knows his stuff and is willing to contribute to our mod.

Example of what is needed: Flyable planes
(We already have driveable tanks)

We also need more gun slot and new weapons to work,
for example a Flakgun.

It should be as a static mg nest in a map.

I don’t think you will manage to code flyable planes…
To code such an enviorment(controls, gravity’s,etc) will take months, if not years.
A flakgun however would be pretty simple.

Not to mention the the environment you will fly them in, i.e. the maps themselves. All of the maps out there are not designed for this.

Jaquboss believed it to be possible.
I guess you could make it fly if you just do things like they do in the game industry: make things appear to work like they are supposed to work. I agree it will take some coding though.

untill I have more time, I can only help the other coders with complex questions(not simple things like howto add a cvar ).

Planes are too fast and too non-sutable for all maps, thats true. Try to look at helicopters, they will be more suitable and easier to code. Still, physics of the flight is an essential part.

Hmm… helies were first designed in WWII as I remember. Not the commanch-like of coruse. But first sucsesful experiments… went away to read some history

But airplanes are not suitable to all the maps, based on soldier interaction, as the speeds are too different and you will have to have a map which is 100 larger, therefore making the walk times incredibly long, or opposite, making the plane go only in the circules, trying to survive and not crash into the walls… One exception is only if the plane was allowed to croos the skyline, then it makes a bit more sence… :confused:

Personally I would love to see helo, or plane…

Helicopters did exist in WWII, though they were rarely used due to design.

I dont think everyone gets the picture of the airplanes…

We waont use airplanes in EVERY map.

Just in maps that are capable of useing them!

uhm NO

We use custom maps for this with a inventive idea on how to use them.
For diff maps, the admin can disable the Airborne Devision

(Each Devision can be closed or opened by a admin from map to map, same for the classes within, and same for the weapons within the classes)

And dont mind the walking distance…
The Pilots will spawn in a distance, but foot players just spwan near the action. We use some sort of teleports for the Pilots to fly thru big spaces.
(So first you start in the airfield, and you lift off, then you go thru a invisible teleport, and then you are in some big open sky box, after that you go thru another teleport and you are at the map where it all happens.
The enemy can also send planes to fight incoming planes of, so in the second (open sky) box dogfights could be possible)

don’t u think it would just be easier to code a ET style objective system into battlefield 1942 rather than use ET objective system and try to code the equivalent of bf1942 in ET?
