coachinvite like in quake3?

is it possible to invite a coach like it is in q3 osp?
if its not than it is a nice idea me thinks
whats your opinion about that?

what exactly does the coach do? it’s not like ref is it?

in quake3 you can invite a teamcoach with /coachinvite player id
you can see the playerid and the netsettings of every player by typing /players in the console
the coach can watch all 4 players(this example is based on quake3)
in splitscreen or can choose every player to spec
this is 4 sure not that good at public server but at clanwars this coach can everyone tell what to do and coordinate the game better than one leader of the team can do
for example an lower skilled clanmate with passion for strategies can be part of the team and he can be the strongest as a coach
i think its a nice idea

nothing wrong with your english that warrrants an apology. I just didn’t understand what the coach function was. In fact, SD had been working on a multiview spec function (if you look in the default config, you’ll see bind M mvactivate) but discontinued working on it because of the difficulty

Just to go a little further into this coach matter.
In vanilla rtcw OSP it’s possible to coach using multiview. I don’t know if SD copied this into ET as well.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that in some cups this feature is ILLEGAL (yeah! imagine that :)). So last time we played in JOLT, coaching was illegal. In ClanBase’s rtcw nation cup, it was not allowed as well, I thought.

I wonder how things will go for ET :slight_smile:
