I have singed up for this reall long ago :I. Like 1/2 year ago :(. Hope I will get this key soon. I am really excited about this game

(potty1) #2

Try reading some of the announcements as nobody, right now in time, is playing this game in beta

(LuLNope) #3

According to steamcharts.com ever since servers went ‘offline’ the player count peak is… 20 players. Devs are keeping the game for themselves : (

Got some torches. I’m just in the far back, in the fith row in the middle behind Chief Wiggum. You can see my torch, if you look closely.

Man I really want to play this game… I cry every night cause ET is kinda dead :(… Want a game like ET just with better graphics.

(Rehoma) #8

We all want to have that same experience that we had with W:ET. But not just because of better graphics. We want a similar experience, but revamped. New life into the gameplay! A new and refreshed community. A new start for all of us to get into the game and experience it in the same awesome way that we did with W:ET!

Wow excuse me, I got a little excited there. Conclusion is that we’re all excited for the game to release or to get access to closed beta. But not simply for better graphics. If that’s all you care about, why not play something like BF4?

Not really… I am a big fan of W:ET and I loved the community. I was member in 3 big clans but then the game was simply old. I am really excited for the trick jump (wall jumps aswell)!
I was playing trick jump for hours a day back then. I just can’t wait any more. I need another amazing fun to play and ofc free to play game.

So… You DO agree with me? As I said, we want those awesome features and the community that we loved so much back then in W:ET. But then revamped. And that’s basically what Dirty Bomb is about. It’s obviously an entirely different game, but you’ll see and find things that you remember from W:ET.

Yup, that’s what I want

(Seoul_Seeker) #12

Honestly, if you think that Dirty Bomb is anything like Wolf ET, you must not have played it. Dirty Bomb, at least the last time I played (which was over 6 months ago now, just stopped by the forums today to see what was new), has more in common with Brink, right on down to the art style. I still see some PR photos with completely different renderings floating about on the internet, making it appear closer to BF gfx, rather than cartoon. It’s not.

Wolf ET and ET:QW were good games by SD, but what really made them what they were, were the community and it’s mods and level designers.

If you fail to see the similarity in features that Wolfestein ET and Dirty Bomb have, you haven’t paid enough attention to either games. Sure it looks more like BRINK, but I feel like it plays more like Wolfstein ET did (and how BRINK should have played).

(Seoul_Seeker) #14

That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. I disagree. Like I said, it’s been a good six months since I’ve played a round of DB, things could have changed. The characters feel floaty to me, the guns lack punch, the gfx is too cartoony and then the decision to give every single class the ability to do everything. Sure engineers can repair faster, but everyone can repair for instance. I seem to recall you can’t even pick up weapons from downed players, correct me if I’m wrong.

It has potential and that’s why I’m so disappointed. SD has made some great games in the past and are one of my favorite developers (which is why I’m still checking in), but so was Rebellion (AvP) at one point in time. I hope things work out better for these guys.

(Szakalot) #15

Dirty Bomb got a lot more W:ETish since the last build.

(Nail) #16

wot he said ^

(Rehoma) #17

@Szakalot @Nail I almost started to doubt my own opinion. Thanks for the back-up guys

Then again, @Seoul_Seeker and everybody else has their unique perspective on Dirty Bomb. There’s no right or wrong

Damn, I’m quite spiritual all of the sudden O_o

(Solid Stache ~NaC) #18

Weapon pick ups aren’t required to make the game better; if you’re eventually looking for that in this game, then you’re going to be sorely disappointed.

The character’s are balanced to specific weapons, so it is extremely unlikely to happen.

(ToonBE) #19

Weapon pick up is a non-argument. There are distinct mercs with their own weaponry and abilities. That is basically the whole point of dirty bomb. Can you imagine f.e. Sawbonez that picks up fraggers gun with potent health packs in its load out. Or Aura picking up Rhino’s spray gun camping with her health station. How would you possibly balance that? You won’t ever - NEVER - be able to pick up weapons.

I never played W:ET. I was playing an other game competitively at that time. But I can safely say that I enjoy dirty bomb. The things they need to get fixed is concistency in shooting and map design. Lets wait and see…

Balance? It’s called teamwork and skill. The weapons wouldn’t be unlockable, they would simply be useable until your avatar is riddled with bullets. I know. I’m expecting far too much from a F2P game and what made Wolf:ET and ET:QW…mods, level design tools will not be viable for a F2P game.
