Hello everyone!

We’re following up the relatively large Unlock and Loadout release with a smaller update that makes some interesting alterations to the game, while addressing a number of bugs. You may well be interested to see that we have added the first implementation of vote kick functionality, and introduced some balancing and usability tweaks to Mercs and maps.

DESIGN
General

[li]We’ve added first stage vote-kick functionality[/li][LIST]
[li][]Press F5 to bring up the Vote Kick menu, use the number keys to select a player to kick. If called upon to vote, press F5 to vote Yes, and F6 to vote No.[/li][li][]Players can vote kick any player on their own team, and it will be voted on by other members of your team.[/li][li][]The vote require more than 50% of players to vote yes to pass. The player that calls the vote automatic votes Yes, and the player to be kicked automatically votes No.[/li][li][]Once you have called a vote you will be unable to call another vote for 60 seconds[/li][/ul]
[li]Only 1 Vote can be active at a timeMap voting sees its first foray into the wild[/li][ul]
[li][]Each player receives 1 vote[/li][li][]You will be presented with 3 options to choose from[/li][li][]The option with the most vote wins[/li][/ul]
[li]Merc visibility tweaks have taken place to make identifying your prey less bothersome [/li][ul]

]The bright variants of each Merc are now always tied to the enemy team[/li][li][]Skin shader optimisations have taken place[/li][li][]Rim light scaling has been adjusted to be more effective at distance[/li][/ul]
[li]We have updated various lobby, warm-up and review timers to make jumping into games even easier[/li][li]Your Mercs, inventory and XP pools have each taken a well-placed cricket bat to the knee. All accounts have been wiped as levelling rewards have been fixed and need to be monitored in a virgin environment[/li][li]Dome has been added to the standard server rotation, now you can enjoy it alongside the rest of the regular maps [/li][/LIST]
BALANCE
Mercs

[ul]
[li]Updated raise and lower times for abilities to be more consistent[/li][li]Player FOV now defaults to 70[/li][li]This is as a result of a previous change that switched the FOV calculation from horizontal to vertical[/li][li]Added the option to disable non-gameplay affecting Camera Animations[/li][li]Delivery time for carryable objectives is now 4 seconds for all primary objectives[/li][/ul]
Fletcher

[li]Increased Ahnuhld-12 Shotgun pellet spread[/li][li]Increased effective range of Ahnuhld-12 pellets[/li][/ul]
Skyhammer

[li]Fixed various issues with the Level Unlocks. You receive rewards when levelling up once again![/li][li]Fixed an issue whereby jumping on the edge of railings would cause the player to become stuck in the falling state, after jumping off they would take falling damage[/li][li]Fixed an issue where grenades had invisible bullet collision surrounding them[/li][/ul]

I’m waiting to receive the final confirmation of the maintenance window, I’ll get that to you as soon as I can. But yes, the maintenance will occur tomorrow.

It’s only the default! You will still be able to change it to 110 :slight_smile:

What kind of FOV does Quake3 engine use (W:ET, most COD games etc)?
What kind of FOV does Unreal 3 engine that DB use?
And what kind of FOV is currently used/displayed in DB in menu? (used FOV and displayed FOV in menu could be different, due to possible conversions to make it easier for people from Q3 engine?)

There is 3 types of FOV:
Horizontal
Vertial
Diagonal

40 V = 66 H = 73 D
47 V = 75 H = 83 D
52 V = 82 H = 90 D
59 V = 90 H = 98 D
73 V = 106 H = 113 D

If i can add a suggestion to the vote kick; since I can’t see it being abused at this stage, would it be feasible to include a 5 minute automatic ban from rejoining the server for anyone that gets kicked? The reason i ask is that I imagine it only being used to get rid of hacking nabjes and they’d probably just reconnect in an attempt to be even more annoying

It will also be used by a group of friends to kick someone innocent or someone they dont like, just for the lols.
Its been discussed to death in HoN, and they finally removed it cause the abuse of kicks, was too high, where 4 friends kicking the 5th just for lols just before winning.

You will be able to choose anywhere within that range (and more), yes ;).

Glad to see you like the update :)!

As for vote-kicking. As with many of the new features that we’ve brought online recently, this is only the first stage implementation. It will evolve over time. We may even reach the point where it isn’t felt to be beneficial anymore, in which case we’ll take it out if that’s the sensible thing to do. But for the time being, we’ll be working to make sure that it’s a helpful piece of kit.

I just did a collision run for trainyard and made screenshots for everywhere I got ‘stuck’ in some way or another. Curious to see how it’s been improved.

THX ! Hope it remove the death camera bobing, and all the new bob effects you can’t disable in the option

unless you have increased the shotguns spread more then what crouch and ADS reduce it by you have effectively just buffed the shotguns >.<
