clipping a player in place

Can you clip a player inplace and then move that clipped brush along a path? or will the player be gibbed?

Try putting a clip over your spawn point and try it out. I’m thinking the person will be gibbed. Alternatively, you could build a hollow clip cage into which you put the player.

i think you will run into problems if you moved the player too fast

also the player wont apear to walk but ither slide or keep hopping

i would expect this to be quite anoying after some time playing the map as well

what exactly are you hoping to achive with this?

I was just thinking about a roller coaster, with loop the loops. So I wanted to trap the players inside the car so they wouldnt fall out. Its a pitty player models dont have a full 360 spin animation.

Maybe Just make a clip tunnel then make the tracks slippery. If its mostly downhill that’d work. They’d build up speed so oyu could have short uphill bits too. Maybe some ladder if theres long uphill bits needed

Der’saidin, I dont mean to have the player on tracks, iam talking about putting a player into a roller coaster car, and having it go along a path, but keeping the player inside so they cant fall out.

yes, but so you cant get out untill it stops.

Can you do something like when you use the tank mounted gun on a moving tank?
You are inside the tank and won’t fall off/out.

Well, the player is ‘attacked’ to an MG 42 in that case…
I think this won’t be the case here.

lol, I might use the mg42 attach method, and replace the shaders with bars, and some how turn off the firing abillity.

i think you should do what Der’saidin and make a clip tunnel. clip the top and sides but not the front and back.

Thats not what i want, i want the player to be seated, and beable to ride the coaster, not slide on their feet.

cant you just trap the player by putting a box of weapon clip so it doesn can shoot but is stuck on that place just make him get just the space to rotate around a litel bit.
just make a station and wenn they sit in the coaster the box gows around them together with thous metal things you see in a normal coaster.
just gife a warning like sit or you get crushed.
so people have to press the button to sit and walk in the coaster that way then wenn they all sit they press a button or somthing and the metal pipe and the no weapon clip box come down and the coaster starts

so just let them walk in to it first and then wenn they sit (or not so they get crushed)
the box comes down together with somthing els so they see it comming and dont get crushed wenn they dont want to.
that way wenn you alread sit you wont be eneble to stand cous the weapon clips stops you from dowing that.
just gife them a litel bit of space so they can rotate around a litel bit :banana:

Why is it, when i sat I dont want it to be like that, an idiot has to carry on. Ive said I dont want a big clip box, ive said ill use the mg. Players will be able to go up side down then. You will also beable to use the mg to kill any one on the floor.

Iam talking about the tank mg’s. The player is tagged to the mg, so if i have a loop in a roller coaster, you will go upside down.
