Client won't connect to online servers

Hi there,

I have updated to the latest 1.5 patch (not beta), and every time I try to connect to a server, the game quits to the desktop immediately. It simply displays the little box saying “Connecting to X.X.X.X,” and then it appears to crash to the desktop. But, the process is still running…

Waiting a couple minutes, then, ETQW boots back up, attempts to connect, and shows a little box reading Error: Cancelled.

Pertinent specs:

HIS IceQ 4670 AGP (drivers up to date from HIS–ATI doesn’t really write drivers for their latest AGP cards)
Windows XP MCE
Athlon64 @ 2.4GHz
1.5GB DDR @ 333MHz

Well, you have something that causes the engine to restart to unload files that shouldn’t be loaded. Perhaps the zzzz_mofoquickchat.pk4

Hmm. Well, I don’t recall installing any mods (I’m just getting into this game), but I’ll look into it.

All you have to do is connect to a server with that pak and press “accept download” for that to happen.

The zzzz_mofoquickchat.pk4 has been proven to break your game. I just downloaded it myself and I had the same issues as you mentioned, so I suggest you remove zzzz_mofoquickchat.pk4 from your system.
