CLIENT/SERVER GAME MISMATCH - ENEMEY TERRITORY/ET Pro

(zero.TA) #1

Allright I’m pissed off:-

Installed 2.6 (mistake)
Installed Patch Selector 2.6 (mistake I think)

What I need is a program linked to ASE that recognises the Version of ET and selects the correct batch file from the batch files created in PAtch Selector.

Secondly I need a batch file that gets rid of the Client Server Mismatch created by ET Pro Mods 3.1.0 & 3.1.9

Hopefully 1 day I’ll be able to play again without spending hours deleting patches and reinstalling them then having to delete profiles and ET mods and installing them.

Shit life is hard

Just play ET 2.60 without ETPro , it will work always fine :skull:

or, 2.56 with etpro. (my preference)

all the server’s ive any interest in playing on are all waiting on a new etpro.

obviously the OP has some interest in playing both or he most likely wouldnt have asked. I cant offer a convenient solution, though i assume it’s to follow a clanmate onto servers or whatever, in which case stick with one and and keep an alternative install to use with “/connect ip” or ingame browser when necessary.

Nice computer specs though, wouldn’t mind having that one myself, especially since my own PC broke down yesterday :moo:

Hmm, I have the etpro 3.1.9 dll’s and pk3 file and the etpro 3.1.0 pk3 file, and I’m able to play on all (2.56) servers without any mismatch errors as far as I know.
Give that a try after you’ve downgraded from 2.6 if you want to use etpro, as the update for etpro for et 2.60 is not released yet afaik.

You can easily run 2 versions on All Seeing Eye, expand the versions tab, right click on the version you want to configure… say ver 1.02 and click on Custom config… in the command line section point it towards the 1.02 ET.exe, do the same for other versions and you should be able to run both.

Thanks Darkangel I was looking for something like that.

What a great tip! Never knew ASE could do that. Thanks!

Umm, drawback of that as I see it is that you have to keep 2 (or 3) parallell installations, as there are files with the same name being upgraded.
Personally I prefer the patch selector I found at http://www.pcgamemods.com/11111/ , but it’s not really an elegant solution, however as soon at the new etpro is released this error should hopefully vanish
