Class you love/hate ?

My favourite class is deffinitely Soldier . So much funny stuff to choose from, and basically all of it deadly.
Classes I like to play are Engineer and Covert Op

My most unfavorable classes are: Field Op (I don’t like playing it at all, it’s damn hard to use support against good players). Ammo isn’t as valuable as it might seem - ammo cabinets… Being ammo factory isn’t such great adventage as health factory.
Anyway, I think ammo producing is the most “stable” field op ability. Artillery and airstrikes may be big and noisy, but it’s gambling. In right hands mortar is much more deadly, but not without Fieldop support.
Spam Ops are usually biggest teamkillers.

Medic - it’s so easy to play with it’s no longer funny. My former favourite class. Medics with good kill2death ratios no longer impress me, because it’s no challange. Medic can fight in most stupid way and still live. It’s not like I have to value my every hitpoint nor ammo round. Still, I play Medic more often than Field Op.

A mortar has barely any ammo unless a field ops goes and gives the mortarer ammo every so often.
That takes two people away from the objective.

A field op can cause massive damage at a specific point (tank or something) while ALSO fighitng with his team.

And field ops are the TK champions, of NOOBS who don’t understand not to run into the area being artied.

If I’m a fieldop in a map where a mortar is actually usefull, and he can aim/follows my targets. I always give continual ammo while targetting with binos and covering him. :drink:
This doesn’t take two people away from the objective, frees other people to frag as the objetive is covered.

But MortarMan FO is better that two FO to block the tank, for example.
So if you already have the first FO…

Yes. It’s kind of hard to avoid this. I’ve been thinking on binding messages and FITHs to Arty, as it doesn’t even show smoke but no player thinks I’m talking to him till he dies. That’s why I rather play medics. :slight_smile: :drink:

Support fire is also critical against any organized resistance. Even if you don’t get kills with it, you can control where the enemy goes, thus forcing them to choose between your support fire and your teams SMG crossfire.

I think the complainers are already getting less frequent. I just played a full hold of fuel dump as fops, where I got the I ain’t got no friends award, and not one complaint. Just "LOL’s and 'Ooops’s from people who stepped in the smoke.

My favorite, since the rtcw test one, is medic. Healing, reviving, ramboing. Nothing beats it :moo:

I love all the classes exept the Field Ops.

I know you can be really good and skilled, but some of the kills they get are just too easy. I mean how hard is it to use binoculars and fire around the tank? It does not require any skill at all.

I know some guys are good at doing it, knowing the right times and when to fire infront of the moving tank, but sometimes it seems just a tad too simple. I also have getting killed without having a chance to defend myself. I run as hell when I see smoke, but sometimes it’s impossible.

Covert Ops would ahve to be the best for me in this game. Its just so funny to watch teh other team shoot each other & often teamkill just to make sure that one of them is not an undercover cov ops.

If its so simple why does the freaking tank usualy get to the fueldump gate when I’ve got 4 field ops for team mates! :angry:

You’d think most people would understand how easy it is… but allies manage to win some how…

I love the engineer class : the only class that can destroy (and disarm) primary objective and build other objectives (command post, barrier,…) .

When i see that in my team there are good and enough engineers : i play another class. But it’s very rare :slight_smile: and i want to win !!

Th only class, i hate is : soldat with panzer !!! too easy, too stupid and often useless.

What about the enemies they kill? Are those also NOOBS? Both teams get exactly the same warning about an arty strike (unless the FO uses chat to describe it)

I don’t exactly like the way that a friendly FieldOps can completely surprise you if you come around a corner after the smoke has gone, but before the artillery has begun. (Or if you think the strike is over and you can race to the objective- but really he’s level 3 and there’s another wave coming!)

I wish that airstrikes and arty gave an extra warning to people on your team. Ideally, I’d like for every single teammate to see targeting symbols on his commandmap and compass. (Like the mortar guy gets, but for airstrikes too) That way, if someone dies to your arty, you can say not only “Newb! Don’t run into the smoke”, but also “Don’t stand under the crosshairs!!”

If there was a map icon showing when a strike was over, Allied FieldOps would help their team more. They could clear out an Axis defense, and then the team can charge in exactly when the bombing is over.

I did that once tried to follow an strike with a charge, and get just to the where the middle of the first strike was and then…

I like playing all classes except maybe PF. I quickly get bored with this class even if I usually have a kill:death ratio of at least 2:1, I’m not there to play DM. If I kill an enemy I want to get close and personal (a reason why I never choose the Rifle when I play Eng) and unload my SMG right into their face (best if they just want to fire a PF and die with the rocket still in the tube :wink: ) and I want to win the map, that’s why I usually play the class most needed (Medic, FieldOps or Eng).

Covert Op is actually very useful class on Siwa Oasis. For some reason, Axis seems to have big troubles catching me. All mines, command posts and MG are mine. I don’t risk a shot unless I have good chance to win. Good way to counter engineers.

Its a good idea for organized play. Unfortunately, the people most prone to running into arty and air strikes are those who probably don’t know how to use the compass map or the pull out version. =)

I forgot one class i hate too : the snipper CO !!.
They are useless.

And when we need them to destroy a command post, open a door, detecting mines or anything else : the only thing they do is SNIPPING.

I hate them particularly when i need them !!!

Favorites:
MG42/Mortar Soldier - holding back entire waves of guys. fun
CovOps (infiltration, not sniping) - I love causing havoc without getting in trouble
Engineer - single handedly winning the map :slight_smile:

Hates:
Medic - I try to avoid the Rambo side and just get bored dropping packs
FieldOps - Pretty bad with support fire, people either expect you to run to them to drop ammo or they shoot you with their pistol to “encourage” you
Panzerfaust solider - does it get any worse? You can do more damage/help by choosing a different class, ANY class

Thats why I only play on limited life servers.
Being able to do crap like that is why.

Non LL servers are just a bunch of rambo panzies running around and people /killing for ammo and health. Pathetic if you ask me.
Without LL medics are near pointless.
As is killing the enemy most of the time.
