[drupal=397]Chris Sweetman to be at Audio for Games Later Today[/drupal]

Splash Damage Audio Director Chris ‘peaceful warrior’ Sweetman is heading up to London this afternoon to be part of a panel at the Audio for Games conference. Titled “Sonic Boom: Discussions into the future of audio in games”, the panel is the last session of the day and will (somewhat unsurprisingly) focus on the future of audio in video games. Aside from Chris, James Slavin of Codemasters, EA Senior Audio Director Adele Cutting and John Broomhall, Chair of the BAFTA Audio Awards are also taking part, so this promises to be an interesting discussion indeed. While the conference is sold out at this point, we’re keeping our eyes out for transcripts and recordings and will let you know as soon as we spot either one.

What? Do they really let discussions about audio at an acoustic conferences actually be recorded? Seems like that could potentially impel someone to post process it and mix it into a nice 7.1 channel surround program before releasing to the public. Oh, but I would happily listen! :stuck_out_tongue:

If there is any info on this I would be interested to hear (or read) about it. Thanks
