Choppy sound of automatic weapons

Hi Everyone,
am I the only one of a very few people who are annoyed of the choppy sounds with some of the automatic weapons in ET:QW? I mostly take the shotgun or strogg Hyperblaster (which has a quite steady firing sound) because it is annoying this choppy taktak…tak…taktaktak…tak… of the GDF machine gun and other weapons. I have seen this not only on my PC but on a friends PC also.

It seems to be some bug in the audio engine, because if you turn off sound you can observe the fire-rate in graphics seems to be quite constant.

don’t get me wrong - I like ET:QW. But for me smooth and synchronized sound is an important issue for games enjoyable experience. Considering it’s a game that id also was involved in - the grandmasters of smooth action games.

Didn’t Splash D. notic it yet, or is it not this relevant for most people?

It’s a known and one tough bug.

The problem is that it has to do with the way the sound engine code is written and would take a rewrite of that code to be solved.
