"chill out man its just a game!" (proxy preceeds to running into rhino and get blasted)

(Cuck) #1

seriously, being bad and chill out is 2 different things

the amount of people running into chokepoints just to get blasted by nader and rhino is too high

how should we prevent this?

(Cletus_VanDamme) #2

world-wide lobotomise

(HunterAssassin5) #3

minimum level 10 servers

(Thai-San) #4

I almost never see one and only one min level 20 in my whole 600 hours of Dirty Bomb.

The only filters I have active are “not full”, “has players” and “EU”.

(terminal) #5

Let them die until they realize there are flanks in video games

(bontsa) #6

So you’re telling me I am not allowed to intoxicate myself and play the game I enjoy, while the results are horrendous and quality is beyond lobotomized?

O.k.

I just thought pubs were exactly for “want random? get random!” type of gameplay. But maybe that’s just me.

Hey while we’re at it, lets ban everyone with less than 0.5 kdr or below 300xp/min and make tutorial so that unless you beat it within certain timeframe and/or accuracy, you’re not allowed to play! Because you’re bad.

E: As if it wasn’t evident enough that last one was sarcasm.

(Eox) #7

Switch to enemy team and blast them even more. Then shout in the microphone “LEAAAARN PEOPLE ! LEAAAAAAARN !”.

(PurpleHippo) #8

You cant fix stupid.

you want to die again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again

“why you do that man”

“im being random cant you see?!”

actually thats not a bad idea.

not a bad idea at all.

i mean you saw some people cant even drop ammo packs or use abilities

you can increase the amount of educated player if the tutorial is actually helpful!

No mission to win.
No mission to carry.
Have fun, and play like you don’t care, at least try to :stuck_out_tongue:

(bontsa) #11

If you find serious gameplay your way of entertainment, join/form a team and play cups. Nobody’s judging you for finding trying hard (not to be read in negative sense here) enjoyable. You can’t expect super serious gameplay as granted in pubs. Sure if it happens, it happens, been there and experienced some goddamn nice games here and there, but it isn’t a norm.

Stop judging others for their understanding of entertainment. Let them have their entertainment the way they want as long as it does not involve being a dick towards anyone. Katana Phantoms, suicide mine Proxies, you name it, can all be form of funtimes for some fellas rather than an attempt to perform or something.

As long as they dont have bloated thoughts of themselves and honestly think to achieve something objectively with it, least I’m all cool with it. What buggs me off is those 2/20 Vassilis and Phantoms going “nub tiim” in chat after loss, not those 2/20 guys who are clearly new but open for suggestions/asking advice/evidently having fun/trying but realizing their limitations.

The former group? Smash their nuts, kick out and carry on. Latter group? Heck I might even join it; if I encounter said Katana only Phantom I whip out my melee.

(SereneFlight) #12

This is why we players need to take IQ test before they’re able to play and…
a) Allow people with at least 100 IQ to play
b) Have servers for people with less than 100 IQ and allow them to play only on those servers
: P

Intentionally playing bad for a few giggles is just a selfish thing to do. I would say most people who play db do enjoy winning. If Your team can’t win because you are not even trying, you are spoiling the fun for your 5-7 teammates just so you can have some fun.

(watsyurdeal) #14

Really the only way to fix bad players is education

If I were to make a multiplayer game, I’d have 4 key things

  1. Community Servers with no levels or ranking, just leaderboards the communities set up.
  2. Matchmaking for Ranked play, in a standard format that everyone has to abide by
  3. A mandatory tutorial that you MUST play in order to play Ranked, no exceptions.
  4. Everything that affects gameplay would be given right away, only unlockables would be cosmetics.

(bontsa) #15

@OmaGretel Ranked is the mode with slightly more promise of getting competent or at least trying teammates. That’s what it should be at least, not the que simulator as it’s now (discussion of that and reasons to another thread…). Playing cups in a team is a way of ensuring all the “threads” are at your hands with no fooling around. If the game has casual mode (hop-in/drop-out, no FF, major spam, 8v8 in 5v5 designed maps,…) it’s better to just accept it to be casual.

No judging for people to actually try do their best in pubs, heck it’s even recommendable. My point is there is a time and place to give up about it due the nature of the mode. You do your best to educate those who’re playing plain bad, but in case they a) turn out to be twats about it = kick b) turn out to be fully aware they’re not pulling their own weigth, they either change their style on request or carry on. And theres nothing one can really do about it. Where do you then suggest people who want to just leave their brains into coathanger every now and then and just see how many cheeky Katana kills they can get go then?

UMM…you know…GTA ONLINE?

hurr if you want to play comp do it on ranked hurr
hurr i dont like serious fast paced game play so i choose dirty bomb hurr

one of my friends got drunk and continue playing for the rest of the night til morning
and he still carries the team

hurr i goof around brah chill hurr
hurr you cant do anything about me if i goof around hurr

well i can just kick people who think they are funny but the team wouldnt let me because

“naw man dont kick him, we wont have another player for the next 4 minutes”
“if you dont like me get out then, im just kidding around!”

that is the problem!
this is not casual mode in this game means! this is not GTA online!
these people doing these sort of things is ruining games for other people just like @OmaGretel said!

is the developer making the tutorial mandatory?

Don’t know what the last one said, because GTA, yes the first part I was on “high-school”.
But rly? Probably even I was one you talked about some LVl 80+ not beeing able to do 1:1 kdr in a team needing some carryage? Rly? May have happened some times, and more, and more.
Most grown-up.s nowadays don’t care. Most grown-up gamers probably realy don’t care about other people’s childs who need education?! At least, we know, our aim is probably max. Mid, and not High, like 14-year-old-pros, but who cares, we are able to aim without assist.
We reapair, we destroy, and if our team walks around like they are Zombies, we also don’t care, so what? No mission to carry, No mission to win.

That’s like playing football (as in “soccer”), your enemy has the ball and your goalkeeper decides he doesn’t feel like playing anymore and just leaves. That will completely piss off his teammates, no matter if it’s a professional match or just some friends playing together in the backyard.
I’m not saying that you can do anything about it, and not caring about it is probably the best thing you can do to maintain your mental health, but I’m saying it’s selfish and really annoying for the rest of your team.
If you have to do it, then at the very least stop messing around or just leave if your team is starting to get spawncamped.

And @D@athi WTF? I’m assuming you were slightly drunk when you wrote that? Why do you get offended by my post in another thread that wasn’t even related to you? I can very well tell the difference between having a bad round and just being bad. I have played against you several times and I know you are quite above average, even for level 80+, so why are you so insecure to relate that post to yourself?

(bontsa) #19

@buffMonorail So just because for example me and your friend can carry teams (in pub match, what a magni-fucking-ficent feat to achieve) while drunk means anyone with either such intentional, or more natural handicap, or simply being plain bad and thus don’t fit your “carry” category, are not allowed to play the game? Wake up.

It’s 2 different things to be intentionally ruining other’s games and just being oblivious in need of advice, and sadly judging from your original post you are cramming these 2 types into one category. Thank bloody golly you’re not in charge of any community with that way of thinking.

Are those potato players frustrating? Heck yes. Can they be asked to stop? Hell yes. Do they have right to play? Hell. Yes.

Only thing I am agreeing with you about is the importance of tutorial, as I’ve been requesting changes to it ever since I joined DB and these forums back in last July. Thankfully Exedore confirmed back in one dev stream that changes are to be expected to that.

I must say I found it slightly amusing you attached “ranked” and “comp” in same sentence as if I would’ve said so :’) First one is simply introduction to FF, 5v5 and team collision and cups & scrims are where even remotely competitive plays happen.

@OmaGretel Sure, that ball “stealer” is the “trolly” or simply ragey whiny one every now and then. You go and get the ball from him and let him bugger off. Online same guy is the one who for example grabs the drug sample/emp and takes it way back to first spawn instead of delivering. You kick him out.

The ones who just want to have a blast with sub-par strategies are more like the player in that group who tries to score goals with only their head, still joining the game and not ruining enjoyment of others. Except ofc for that one idiot who thinks those backyard football plays are The World Cup. To the bollocks with that guy.

(Reddeadcap) #20

@bontsa to be fair there is being intoxicated and playing with very relaxed feel and having a few more deaths than necessary but there are way more cases where it’s just
“I’m going to run around with a cricket bat as Sparks and come across a Rhino with his minigun revved aiming straight towards me, I better try to kill him with my bat, oh no I’m dead.”

followed by Rhino is OP remarks, racial remarks, my team sucks comments over and over again and so much more.
