Cheer me up?

Last week was a very bad week fur me. First of all my net connection was down for 2 weeks after I moved house = no ET for 2 weeks :banghead: In the meantime i bought a new mobo/cpu off one of my mates, which I spent 5 days tryin to get my geforce4 to work on - I eventually gave up and put a geforce2 in which works fine now. In the process of rebuilding my machine I lost everything I have been working on for about 2 months - songs mostly, even songs inspired by ET and Wolf, and a few maps that I had been working on for ET - I had them all backed up on different partitions, but somehow in my fits of rage at the mobo/geforce4 debacle I managed to wipe everything, on all partitions :(. I have lost it all.

Anybody got any jokes or good news to keep a suicidal wreck from the brink? (Please no jokes about backups…)

And please don’t post the Samaritans fone number either, I already have it on fastdial but they never answer when They know it’s me :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you overwrite the data or just deleted the partitions. If its the last one, and you have a windows file system you might try getting your data beck with getdataback ( http://www.runtime.org/ ), it saved me a lot of times (me=a dumbass).

@ mouse, the whole drive has now been formatted again and set up with new partitions. a few people have been telling me today that files can still be recovered with progs like the one you mention - I didn’t think it was possible? there is also one that might be able to get data back even if the drive has been formatted?! i will give these a go, but i am kind of resigned to the fact that it’s all lost. but i suppose it’s worth a try. thanks for your suggestion. :slight_smile:

Yes Errol, you can get all the files back that arent overwritten by new files, only the filesystemtable is deleted so the directorys are gone (im not very sure about stuff, but i do know i could get files back a lot of times). Let me know if it works.
