Cheat or Not?

I’ve noticed this a couple of times while playing on different servers, all PB servers.

Someone on either team is eating everyone on the opposing team for lunch. That’s no big deal, seen that plenty of times. But on occasion I have seen a dead body lying on the ground frozen as though someone went into connection interrupted as soon as they died, with feet still in the air, and with back to the floor. The body just stays there, and doesn’t sink into the ground like other bodies.

One time i found that strange so i threw a grenade on it to see what would happen and to my surprise, as soon as the body was blown up PB decides to kick someone.

Could this some hack that makes PB think a person is not connected or in spec or something? I’ve not heard of this kind before.

most likly when you blew him up, he will have already been 999’d for a while so pb kicked him for pb auth failer

just a coincidence that it happened right after you blew him up

if you check the kick message its probably something like “pb init failure”, “COMFAIL: pb client not responding”, just a error somewhere, often caused by a crash. the player model often freezes because theyve crashed out already and server hasnt caught on yet. I wouldnt be concerned about cheating unless its a proper cheat violation (thread, in which case I’d still assume the model sticking there is a case of server not realised he’s been crashed/kicked already.
